Songwriter Duel with Audience Decision in the Old Malting House

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, the Club of the Old Malting House in Regensburg will transform into a stage for musical competition, creative surprises, and immediate live atmosphere. At the Mälze Song Slam, eight songwriters will compete against each other and fight for the audience's votes with their own songs.

Eight Minutes for the Big Moment

Each musician will have eight minutes to convince the audience. Short set changes keep the evening dynamic as different styles come together: classical folk with guitar, hip hop with synthesizer and beat loop, or individual singer-songwriter arrangements. The short performance time requires precise dramaturgy, strong stage presence, and a song that makes an immediate impact.

The Audience Decides

At the Mälze Song Slam, the audience's mood is not just a backdrop. The visitors will determine the two winners of the evening, who will qualify for the grand annual final in December. This creates a direct concert experience where every chorus, every line of lyrics, and every musical twist counts.

Diversity Between Folk, Hip Hop, and Beat Loop

The orchestration remains intentionally open: acoustic instruments meet electronic sounds, intimate song moments switch with rhythmic energy. It is precisely this stylistic breadth that makes the singer-songwriter evening exciting and shows how differently modern live music can be presented. The evening will be hosted by Johannes Molz.

An Evening for Curious Music Fans

The Mälze Song Slam is aimed at all who want to discover new voices, experience the regional music scene, and enjoy concert evenings with a real competitive character. The Old Malting House provides the perfect setting: close to the stage, open to experiments, and with space for an intense connection between acts and audience.
