Ukrainian Sound Tradition Meets Lived Solidarity

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the National Bandurist Chapel of Ukraine will perform at St. Johannes Church in Regensburg. The benefit concert "Ukraine Sings with Hearts" connects Ukrainian music tradition with a sign of support for Ukrainian culture.

45 Voices, One Resonant Tradition

The National Chapel of Bandurists of Ukraine is one of the oldest artistic ensembles in the country, existing for more than a century. The stage performance features around 45 musicians who simultaneously sing and play the Bandura. The lute zither creates a characteristic sound between delicate string resonance, powerful polyphony, and folkloric timbre.

Folk Songs, Regional Melodies, and Modern Accents

The concert program showcases well-known Ukrainian folk songs, authentic melodies from various regions of Ukraine, and patriotic works. The musical journey is complemented by popular titles from Ukrainian pop music. This creates a diverse orchestration where traditional motifs, choral synchronization, and the expressive sound language of the Bandura come together.

Music as a Bridge Between People

The benefit event stands in the spirit of solidarity and collects donations to support Ukrainian culture. In the special acoustics of St. Johannes Church, the music unfolds an immediate effect: voices carry through the church space, string sounds create fine light points, and the audience's mood connects concertgoers across language and national borders.

A Concert Experience with Cultural Significance

The ensemble preserves the artistic code of Ukrainian Kobzarism and makes it liveable. The combination of singing, Bandura playing, and communal stage performance gives the evening a strong emotional dramaturgy. The concert is aimed at everyone who wants to discover Ukrainian culture, experience choral music, and make a sign of solidarity with their attendance.

Conclusion: An Evening Full of Sound and Hope

"Ukraine Sings with Hearts" promises an impressive benefit concert with powerful voices, characterful string instruments, and a clear message. Admission is free; donations are welcome. Anyone who wants to experience Ukrainian music firsthand and support the cultural work of Ukraine should witness this evening live in Regensburg.
