From November 11 to 15, 2026, the Transit Filmfest transforms the film gallery at Leeren Beutel in Regensburg into a meeting point for international cinema, social future challenges, and film historical discoveries. Under the motto ULTIMATE FANTASY XXVI, the festival connects new perspectives on fantastic counter-worlds with unusual narrative forms and a passionate cinema culture.

The festival program moves between societal reality, speculative future images, and cinematic experiments. International productions meet special classics and forgotten works of film history. The Transit Filmfest addresses a curious, film-loving audience that wants to not only consume cinema but also discover, discuss, and think further together.
Film Gallery at Leeren Beutel as Festival Center
For the first time, in 2026, all events will take place at Leeren Beutel. The film gallery at Leeren Beutel, Bertoldstraße 9, thus forms the concentrated festival center. From Wednesday to Sunday, the program ranges from early evening screenings to late-night hours. The open-air atmosphere of a classic music festival gives way to the special intensity of the cinema hall: dark rooms, glowing screens, focused gazes, and conversations in the foyer.
