Discovering Georgia: Culture, History, and Present in Dialogue
With & about Georgia – European Cultural Dialogue invites you to Regensburg from October 29 to November 10, 2026. The multi-day event series connects society, art, music, literature, history, culinary arts, and travel in a multifaceted focus on Georgia.
A Festival of Encounter
The focus is on direct exchange between Georgia and Germany. The organizers European Cultural Dialogue e. V. and the Georgian platform TRAVELLER bring together artists, writers, scholars, cultural mediators, and travelers. The program opens perspectives between Tbilisi and Regensburg, the Caucasus and Europe, tradition and modernity.
Music, Film, and Georgian Soundscapes
The program ranges from a live a cappella concert by musician Sandro Bibich Kvachadze from Tbilisi to Georgian film evenings. His multi-layered vocal recordings combine Georgian musical influences with soul and electronic soundscapes. With Nana Jorjadze's The Rainbowmaker and Tato Kotetishvili's Holy Electricity, Georgian cinema also receives a strong platform.
Art, Exhibition, and Culinary Arts
A group exhibition in the cultural space Vor der Grieb features photographs and paintings with personal, historical, and artistic perspectives on Georgia. The visual journey is complemented by Georgian wine, culinary specialties, and music. Thus, the cultural dialogue becomes not only audible and visible but also experienced through taste and shared experience.
Literature, Science, and Europe
Lectures and readings focus on ancient Colchis, Medea, Georgian script, literature, memory, and the relationship of Georgia to Europe. Contributions from experts like Zaal Andronikashvili, Katrin Boeckh, and Tamar Qeburia connect historical research with current questions about freedom, belonging, and cultural identity.
The Conclusion on November 10
On November 10, another program point takes place in Regensburg as part of the European Cultural Dialogue. The event series brings together different voices and presents Georgia as a living culture between history, present, European perspective, and personal experience.
Conclusion
Visitors can expect not an ordinary single event but a diverse multi-day experience with festival atmosphere, expert discussions, art, film, literature, music, and Georgian hospitality. Those who want to get to know Georgia from different perspectives and experience cultural exchange live will find a special place for encounter in Regensburg.
