Bavarian Family Experience with Dance, Music and Children's Laughter
During the family event A Day as a Trachtler, children and youth will discover the vibrant world of Regensburg's Trachten associations on September 26, 2026. The Trachten workshop focuses on hands-on experience, curious exploration, and plenty of fun learning about Bavarian customs.
Participate, marvel and experience community
From 1:30 PM, participants will arrive at St. Wolfgang Elementary School. Young participants will get to know the Trachten youth and will be divided into workshop groups appropriate for their age. This creates an open atmosphere where movement, music, and playing together create space for personal learning experiences.
Workshops for Little Explorers
Depending on the number of participants, children and youth can expect various activities: Bavarian dancing, singing Bavarian songs and children's songs, community-strengthening games, and Schuhplattler for boys. The activities promote coordination, expression, musical experience, and social development in a child-friendly way.
Aged Appropriately Supervised and Safely Designed
The program is aimed at children and youth aged approximately 3 to 18 years. The workshops will be divided by age group. The youth leaders of the participating Trachten associations are trained youth leaders and possess the Juleica certification. This connects educational experience, responsible supervision, and collective learning in a safe environment.
Parents' Café with Time for Exchange
While the children attend their workshops, the Parents' Café will open with coffee and cake. Parents will gain insights into the youth work of the Trachten associations and can exchange views with contact persons about club life, group offerings, and suitable activities for their children.
Joint Conclusion with Presentation
After two workshop phases, the presentation of what has been learned will take place. From 4:00 PM, the children and youth will show their parents and visitors what they have discovered in dancing, singing, playing, or Schuhplatteln. This conclusion provides young participants with recognition and makes progress immediately tangible.
