See, hear, and experience stories creatively
On Friday, October 9, 2026, the Burgweinting district library invites children aged four and above to a special reading hour. The Creative Picture Book Cinema combines images, stories, and joint creativity into a loving family experience in Regensburg.
With large images right in the story
In the picture book cinema, children immerse themselves in a narrated picture book world. The projected illustrations support listening, promote attention, and stimulate imagination as well as language development. The calm atmosphere in the library creates a child-friendly learning experience that awakens curiosity and joy in reading.
Crafting and painting bring the story to life
After the reading, the children get creative themselves. A small crafting or painting activity invites them to capture impressions from the story and develop their own ideas. The young visitors experience fun in learning, self-efficacy, and shared time with other children and their families.
Aged appropriately and family-friendly
The offer is aimed at children aged four and above and is thus tailored to the needs of preschool children. Reading aloud, viewing pictures, and creative designing playfully promote language, imagination, fine motor skills, and social development. The event takes place in the rooms of the district library and offers a protected framework for children's laughter, wonder, and joint discovery.
A relaxed afternoon in Burgweinting
The one-hour event starts at 4:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. Admission is free. Families can enjoy a hassle-free afternoon activity that combines culture, reading promotion, and creative participation.
Conclusion: Reading aloud, wondering, and creating
The Creative Picture Book Cinema gives families a valuable break with stories, imagination, and small works of art. Children discover the joy of books and can express their impressions creatively right away. This family-friendly offer in Regensburg invites everyone to dive into a picture book world together and experience the event live.
