New Books 2026: Discover Literature at a Quick Pace
When new books meet a curious readership, a literary evening full of voices, themes, and surprising perspectives emerges. Under the title New Books 2026 – Speed-Reading, authors from the Writers' Association of Eastern Bavaria present their new releases at the City Library of Regensburg.
Literary Diversity in Concentrated Form
The format combines the conciseness of speed-reading with the immediate atmosphere of a reading. Brief insights into current books open the door to different genres, narrative styles, and linguistic concepts. The focus is on engaging with new literature from the region and the question of which stories will shape the cultural discourse of 2026.
Rolf Stemmle Presents Regensburg from Below
The featured new release includes Regensburg from Below by Rolf Stemmle and Ralf Stein. The book leads to hidden spaces of the city and its surroundings: to cellars, caves, water beings, crypts, and other mysterious places beneath the visible surface. Informative texts, atmospheric photographs, and specific excursion tips combine nonfiction, urban history, and literary storytelling.
Language Meets Musical Framing
The reading atmosphere is enhanced by a musical framework provided by Benedikt Dreher on recorder and bassoon. This adds an additional auditory layer to the author presentation. Language, voice, and music engage in a dialogue, making the evening a versatile literary experience.
An Evening for Curious Readers
The event is aimed at all those who wish to discover new releases, regional authors, and experience literature in concentrated form. The City Library in the historic Thon-Dittmer-Palais provides a suitable setting: centrally located, culturally significant, and close to the literary scene of Regensburg.
Entry is free. Pre-registration by email is recommended.
