When the City Tells Stories: QR-Code Literature at the Cat Temple
On Friday, November 6, 2026, the Cat Temple in Regensburg will become the venue for a special literary encounter. The final reading of the QR-Code Literature project brings together the young authors of the Young Writers with their stories live on stage. The event begins at 7:30 PM.
Literature between Storefronts, Alleys, and Everyday Life
QR-Code Literature connects contemporary young literature with the urban atmosphere of Regensburg's old town. From October 5 to November 1, 2026, visitors could scan QR codes in eight special shops, read custom-written short stories, and embark on a literary puzzle tour.
Each story emerged from the world of a participating location. Crafts, jewelry, music, toys, tea, and bookstores became narrative impulses. Literature thus leaves the classic reading room and meets its audience where everyday life, urban culture, and imagination intertwine.
Young Voices and Independent Narrative Worlds
During the final reading, eight contributors from the Young Writers will personally present their texts: Elisabeth Pensenstadler, Amelie Kreiß, Stephanie Kara, Stella Faßold, Theresa Klinz, Florian Fischer, Vera Hetzennecker, and Anika Haulsen.
The event showcases how diverse literary writing can be today. The short texts respond to specific spaces and develop their own narratives from them. This creates a vibrant connection of city observation, literary art, and playful reading promotion.
Reading Atmosphere at the Cat Temple
The Cat Temple provides an unusual setting for the author encounter. Between café atmosphere and literary attention, an immediate experience is created: voices become audible, texts gain rhythm, and characters step out of the digital sphere into the shared space.
The reading offers literature enthusiasts the opportunity to get to know the Young Writers and their texts, to experience the conclusion of the puzzle tour, and to discover the cultural idea behind QR-Code Literature up close.
Solve Puzzles and Win Vouchers
Another highlight is the announcement of the winners of the puzzle game. Those who read the stories at the eight stations and answered the questions were able to determine a solution word. Vouchers from the participating shops are to be won; eight vouchers worth 20 euros each have been provided for the event.
Conclusion: Experience Literature Live
The final reading of QR-Code Literature is more than a classic reading. It brings together young literature, Regensburg urban space, and shared exploration. Those who want to discover new voices, conclude the literary puzzle tour, and experience texts in an immediate atmosphere will find an inspiring evening full of linguistic art and urban culture at the Cat Temple on November 6.
