When Reality Writes the Most Exciting Stories

True Crime fascinates because real cases make the boundaries between journalistic research, societal responsibility, and human drama visible. On Sunday, November 8, 2026, Adrian Mühlbauer will share his most thrilling experiences from 37 years as a police and court reporter at the EmmeramForum.

Between Research and Reality

Adrian Mühlbauer has spoken with murderers before they were apprehended by police and reported on serial offenders, rampages, contract killers, and family dramas. His event combines personal insights into the everyday life of a police reporter with extraordinary research successes and spectacular criminal cases.

The Language of the Police Reporter

The focus is not on a sensational portrayal of crimes but on the journalistic perspective: How do stories develop under time pressure? What responsibility does reporting hold regarding perpetrators, victims, and their families? Mühlbauer contextualizes his experiences as a journalist, author, and tour guide, making the mechanisms behind the public perception of real criminal cases comprehensible.

True Crime as a Societal Discourse

The event introduces a genre situated between documentation, reportage, and narrative nonfiction. Alongside spectacular cases, it also addresses individuals who experienced incredible luck. This contrast lends the evening a particular dramatic tension and opens up perspectives on the unpredictability of human fates.

An Evening at the EmmeramForum

The reading atmosphere of the evening is created through the immediate encounter with the author and the focused voice of an experienced police reporter. The literary experience combines precise observation, vivid language, and expert framing. The event is conceived as part 1 and can be attended independently of the second part.

Conclusion

Visitors can expect an intense True Crime evening about journalistic work, extraordinary cases, and the human abysses behind the headlines. Those who wish to understand real criminal stories not just as consumers but from the perspective of an experienced reporter will experience a concise author encounter at the EmmeramForum. Admission is free, donations are welcome; registration is mandatory.
