The Power of Language: A Literary-Musical Reading in Regensburg
Language connects, irritates, questions, and shapes our societal interactions. Under the title The Power of Language, five authors from the East Bavaria Writers' Association dedicate themselves to the cultural theme of the year 2026 Fingerspitzengefühl. The reading will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Central Library on Haidplatz in Regensburg.
Literature as a Resonance Space for Societal Questions
The focus of the evening is the diverse impact of language. Literary texts make audible how words create closeness, express contradiction, or describe social reality. The reading combines literary quality with a current cultural discourse on respectful communication, exclusion, and coexistence in a diverse society.
Five Voices, a Common Theme
Reading will be Dietmar Grün, Elfi Hartenstein, Angela Kreuz, Claudia H. Spelic, and Rolf Stemmle. Their different writing styles and narrative perspectives open up a multifaceted literary panorama. Between precise observation, linguistic artistry, and contemplative moments, a reading atmosphere is created where every word carries weight.
Music, Conversation, and Immediate Author Encounter
The musical accompaniment by Benedikt Dreher creates atmospheric transitions between the contributions. Cordula Gerndt will guide the evening and accompany the event as a moderator. Following this, a brief discussion round invites exchange, supplemented by experiences and impulses from the Diversity and Anti-Discrimination Office of the University of Regensburg.
A Literary Experience with Societal Relevance
The event focuses on language as an artistic medium of expression and as a social force. The immediate connection of voice, text, music, and conversation makes the evening a special literary experience. Visitors can expect a concentrated author encounter that encourages listening, reflection, and discussion.
Conclusion: The Power of Language brings together regional literature, musical atmosphere, and societal reflection. For those who want to not only read language but experience its spoken effects, the Central Library Regensburg offers an engaging evening with five authors from the East Bavaria Writers' Association. Admission is free, donations are welcome. Registration with the organizer is recommended.
