Rediscovering the Radicality of Love
A religious experience often begins with a question that leads into everyday life: Is Jesus' command to love one's enemies an unattainable utopia or a realistic foundation for Christian spirituality? The lecture in Regensburg invites participants to reconsider the Sermon on the Mount as a challenging yet practical guide.
An Evening about the Sermon on the Mount and Living Neighborly Love
At the center is Jesus' command of love, emphasized to the point of loving one's enemies in the Sermon on the Mount. Prof. Emeritus Dr. Michael Stahl explores how realistic this radical message is for human coexistence and why it is interpreted differently across church teachings.
Theology, History, and Literature in Discussion
Michael Stahl combines academic experience from ancient history, philosophy, German literature, and theological questions. His research has dealt with the relationship between culture and politics as well as the reception of antiquity in modernity. Additionally, he leads interdenominational discussion groups on theology and religion and regularly organizes events focused on German literature.
Spiritual Atmosphere at EmmeramForum
The EmmeramForum provides an appropriate setting for an evening of reflection, focused listening, and open exchange. Attendees should not expect a liturgical celebration but rather a well-founded religious lecture with room for personal reflection and communal discussion on Christian ethics, faith practice, and the significance of the Sermon on the Mount.
