A Magical Journey to the Land of Oos

When the curtain rises on October 17, 2026, at the Akademietheater Regensburg, an extraordinary journey begins for Dorothee. The play The Wizard of Oos by Lyman Frank Baum takes children aged six and above into a world full of adventures, wishes, and surprising encounters.

A Heroine Torn Between Homesickness and Departure

Dorothee unexpectedly lands in the mysterious Land of Oos. Although her familiar world is not free of difficulties, she wants to return home as quickly as possible. Her path leads her to the Emerald City, to the powerful Wizard of Oos, from whom she hopes to receive help.

Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion

On her journey, Dorothee meets three extraordinary companions: The Scarecrow wishes for brains, the Tin Man longs for a heart, and the fearful Lion dreams of courage. Together they face dangers and solve challenges that initially seem insurmountable.

Children's Theater with Dramatic Depth

The production combines fairy-tale fantasy with central themes of the stage arts: friendship, self-confidence, and the courage to continue on one's own path. The dramaturgy follows a clear journey movement, where each encounter sets new impulses and the characters grow beyond their perceived limits.

This creates an immediate stage experience for young audience members. The atmosphere of the theater, the art of acting, and the imagination of the audience combine for a journey where wishes are not just fulfilled, but fought for together.

An Afternoon Full of Stage Magic

The performance at the Akademietheater in the old Malsaal is aimed at children aged six and their families. The magic of Oos thrives on the sensory power of theater: the transformation of the stage space, the encounters of the characters, and the shared wonder in the audience.

Conclusion: Friendship as the Strongest Magical Power

The Wizard of Oos invites you to an imaginative theater afternoon in Regensburg. Families experience a story about solidarity, courage, and the strength to move forward. Anyone who wants to experience the magic of children's theater live should not miss this performance at the Akademietheater.
