Discover literature, solve puzzles, and experience Regensburg in a new way

From October 5 to November 1, 2026, the city center of Regensburg will transform into a literary puzzle tour. The project QR-Code Literature by the Young Writers connects young literature with special shops, urban atmosphere, and a playful exploration of the old town.

Stories behind QR Codes

In eight selected shops, prominently displayed QR codes lead to specially written stories. Each narrative is inspired by the world of the respective store and offers an unusual perspective on everyday life, craftsmanship, design, enjoyment, and city culture. Literature is not only read but also experienced directly in public space.

Linguistic Trailblazing through the Old Town

The route leads, among other places, to the Küffer Ceramics Workshop on Goldene-Bären-Straße, the FEIN.GOLD Master Atelier for jewelry, and Shadilac Records in Kramgasse. Other stops include atelier schwesternliebe, Selmair Toys, the tea shop Tee in, the Dombrowsky bookstore at St.-Kassian-Platz, and the Katzentempel Regensburg on Obermünsterstraße.

On this literary treasure hunt, participants answer puzzle questions and piece together clues to form a solution word. Flyers accompany the puzzle tour and facilitate orientation between the stations. This creates a unique discovery experience for literature enthusiasts, curious city visitors, and anyone wanting to get to know Regensburg's old town in a new way.

Regensburg as a Stage for Young Literature

Between historic alleys, small shops, and lively squares, the event combines cultural heritage with contemporary writing. This special type of city tour makes local atmosphere palpable: shop windows become reading stations, stores become literary settings, and familiar paths lead to a creative puzzle route.

Final Reading and Contest

The winners will be announced at the final reading on November 6, 2026, at the Katzentempel. As prizes, there are vouchers from participating stores. Thus, the literary puzzle tour goes beyond reading and puzzling to foster a communal cultural encounter.

Conclusion: Discover Regensburg through Reading

QR-Code Literature offers a diverse blend of city strolling, literary mediation, and old-town experiences. Those who wish to get to know young voices, discover special shops, and explore Regensburg with a keen eye will find an inspiring literary puzzle tour right in the city center.
