AKUSO Regensburg GmbH | Opening Hours & Events

AKUSO Regensburg GmbH is not an ordinary store and not a classic stage, but an interactive forum for culture and social issues in the heart of Regensburg's old town. The concept combines a book salon, readings, lectures, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and presentations in a historic location. On the ground floor, used and nearly new books are the focus, while the upper floor allows for cultural experiences in a smaller, more personal setting. The house Zur Arch at Haidplatz is located in one of the oldest and most beautiful squares in Regensburg, giving a special flair to the visit. Those searching for akuso regensburg gmbh photos, address, opening hours, or event information will find a location with a clear identity, social commitment, and a strong connection to the city's history. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Photos, Book Salon, and First Impressions of AKUSO Regensburg

The first impression of AKUSO Regensburg is not created through a large stage or a classic event hall, but through atmosphere, content, and closeness. The official website works with images and shows at first glance that two worlds are being connected here: the social book salon below, and the cultural stage above. This makes the search for akuso regensburg gmbh photos particularly meaningful, as visual impressions help to immediately categorize the house. The location does not feel anonymous, but personal, quiet, and consciously designed for encounters. On the ground floor, visitors will primarily find used, but also nearly new books and publications from various fields. These include fiction, popular science, and specialized literature, as well as categories such as history, archaeology, art, theology, and medicine. Additionally, regional references are important: books about Regensburg and the surrounding area also play a significant role. This is more than just a small store with shelves. It is a place where books serve as conversation starters and where one can browse between historical topics, specialized literature, and personal discoveries. Therefore, those visiting the old town for a short time can not only read or buy something but also perceive the character of the house: culture to touch, social orientation, and a lovingly curated offering. This makes AKUSO interesting for people who consciously seek authentic places rather than standardized interiors. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Especially in a city like Regensburg, whose old town is strongly shaped by history, world heritage, and evolved urban spaces, this concept feels very coherent. The Haidplatz itself is considered by Regensburg Tourism to be one of the oldest and most beautiful squares in the city; this environment enhances the impact of the book salon and cultural spaces. Therefore, those interested in Regensburg and its places will find at AKUSO not just a business, but an attitude: used books, careful selection, cultural mediation, and an approach that also includes social issues. The website explicitly emphasizes that it is about culture and social issues and that the forum was created as a point of contact for these concerns. This is particularly relevant for search queries related to akuso regensburg photos, akuso regensburg book salon, or regensburg old town culture, as it explains the actual identity of the location. The images alone may show atmosphere, but the text behind it explains why this atmosphere exists: Here, reading, discovering, mediating, and discussing takes place. This blend of a book place and cultural space makes the first impression so characteristic. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Opening Hours, Address, and Book Acceptance in Regensburg's Old Town

For practical planning, the opening hours of AKUSO Regensburg are clearly stated. The regular visiting hours are from Wednesday to Saturday between 12 and 18; in addition, appointments can be made by arrangement. This combination is typical for a place that does not rely on mass operations but on personal use, consultation, and suitable formats. The book acceptance is also particularly important: it is centrally managed through the warehouse, and there is also a book acceptance at Obere Bachgasse 21 on Mondays from 10 to 14. This shows that the book stock is not static but is continuously maintained and expanded. Those searching for akuso regensburg address or book acceptance regensburg will thus receive not only a location but a functioning process: address, contact, opening hours, and acceptance mode are transparently described. The address at Haidplatz 3, 93047 Regensburg positions the forum in the middle of the old town and thus in close proximity to the historic paths, squares, and passages for which Regensburg is known. The combination of a central location and a calm, content-driven concept is one of the greatest advantages of the house. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

These pieces of information are also valuable for visitors who do not primarily come for an event but for the book offerings or a spontaneous detour into the old town. The open time window from Wednesday to Saturday is long enough for a relaxed visit in the afternoon, yet compact enough to maintain the personal atmosphere. The additional book acceptance on Monday shows that the house is organizationally designed for a continuous flow of stock. For SEO relevance, such terms are strong: akuso regensburg opening hours, akuso regensburg address, akuso regensburg book salon, and book acceptance regensburg cover real user intentions. In practice, this means: those who want to bring books should use Monday; those who want to browse, gather information, or simply experience the spaces can come from Wednesday to Saturday. The website also mentions a contact option via email and phone, which is useful for individual inquiries, reservations, or appointment arrangements. This creates a precise, practical image of the location without the need for guessing. This clarity is a strong argument for an event and cultural address in the old town. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Events, Readings, Workshops, and Exhibitions in the Program

The event profile of AKUSO Regensburg is versatile and clearly culture-oriented. The website describes the upper floor as a cultural stage suitable for short meetings, assemblies, workshops, and conferences, as well as for readings, lecture events, and exhibitions. This breadth is also reflected in the published monthly programs. For example, there are exhibitions, lectures, readings, openings, workshops, city tours, book fairs, and historical evenings. The July program ranges from the exhibition “City Time – Time City” to lectures such as “Craft and Trade – Hand in Hand” to readings, a mobile scriptorium, a lecture with a city tour, and a reading for children aged seven and up. The May program includes, among other things, an exhibition on “Memories,” a book fair, a lecture on the Thon-Dittmer-Palais, a musical reading, a historical evening of the Jahn Archive, an opening for the exhibition “Images of a Uprising,” and even a bike tour with a search for traces of the WAA around Wackersdorf. This clearly shows that AKUSO not only offers general culture but also topics with local, historical, and social relevance. Those searching for akuso regensburg events, akuso regensburg readings, akuso regensburg lectures, or akuso regensburg workshops will find here not an empty placeholder page but real program content. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Particularly interesting is the range of content. It is not only about literature but also about history, urban development, regional memory culture, archaeological topics, and social debates. This is where the added value of the forum lies: the location provides a framework that is small enough for intensive formats and yet open enough for different disciplines. The published programs also indicate that the house hosts both independent events and collaborations with authors, historians, libraries, archives, and cultural initiatives. This creates a lively calendar image instead of a fixed standard repertoire. For visitors, this is attractive because they can experience new content repeatedly. For organizers, the place is interesting because it brings together cultural, scientific, and social topics in a historical setting. Especially in Regensburg, where history and the present are very close together, this profile fits excellently into the cityscape. The events are not loud or spectacular in the classical sense but rather concentrated, content-driven, and close to the audience. This makes the location interesting for people who consciously seek substance and not just event glamour. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Historic House Zur Arch at Haidplatz and Cultural Context

A significant part of the impact of AKUSO Regensburg lies in the historical context of the location. The building at Haidplatz 3, 4 is documented as the House Zur Arch, a four-wing complex from the last quarter of the 13th century with late Gothic extensions, Renaissance courtyard arcades, as well as baroque renovations and modifications in 1863. This long construction history is not merely a footnote but shapes the entire perception of the place. Those visiting the forum move in a space that is based on several historical layers and thus possesses a special depth. The Haidplatz itself is considered one of the oldest and most beautiful squares in the city according to Regensburg Tourism. Here, great festivals and knight tournaments took place for centuries, and significant buildings such as the Golden Cross or the Thon-Dittmer-Palais still frame the square today. In this environment, a culturally oriented book salon does not feel like a foreign body but rather like a natural continuation of the city's history. This is exactly why the interplay of place, content, and use is so convincing. ([tourismus.regensburg.de](https://tourismus.regensburg.de/erleben-entdecken/unesco-welterbe-sehenswuerdigkeiten/haidplatz))

The historic ambiance is also important for the user experience. The official website explicitly states that the cultural stage on the upper floor provides a dignified setting for various occasions and that readings, lectures, and exhibitions are possible in the historic ambiance of the House Arch at Haidplatz. This makes it clear that history here is not just a backdrop but part of the spatial effect. The house contributes to the identity of the events because it creates a calm, respectful, and at the same time urban open atmosphere. This is particularly suitable for content from literature, archaeology, history, or regional memory culture. The city of Regensburg itself describes the Haidplatz as a place where lively festivals have been celebrated since ancient times. This connection of public space, historic architecture, and vibrant use is also reflected in the current function of AKUSO. Those searching for house zur arch regensburg, haidplatz regensburg, or regensburg old town culture will thus encounter a place where history remains visible and is still used in the present. This makes the location credible, high-quality, and distinctive. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Accessibility, Spatial Experience, and Practical Tips for Visitors

When planning a visit, it is important to also know the practical limitations and peculiarities of the location. AKUSO Regensburg explicitly points out on its website that the event rooms on the upper floor are unfortunately not accessible. This is relevant information for people with mobility impairments and also shows that the location is transparent about its spatial conditions. Anyone planning a meeting, conference, reading, or exhibition should therefore inquire individually in advance about which format fits best. The website provides the email address and offers appointments by arrangement. This suggests that AKUSO relies more on flexible, personal coordination than on standardized mass formats. A fixed publicly designated capacity is not mentioned on the website; this indicates that the rooms are used differently depending on the occasion and seating arrangement. This is often an advantage, especially for smaller cultural formats, as the atmosphere is preserved and the event is not bound to a rigid hall logic. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

The spatial experience is thus more intimate than monumental, more dialogical than distant. The website describes the upper floor as an action area suitable for various uses. In conjunction with the book salon on the ground floor, a clear functional mix emerges: browse below, listen, discuss, or present above. For organizers looking for akuso regensburg workshops, akuso regensburg lectures, or akuso regensburg exhibitions, this combination is very attractive because it connects content and atmosphere. It is also pleasant for visitors because they do not get lost in a large, impersonal hall but experience a place that focuses on closeness, exchange, and content concentration. Those coming from the old town reach the forum in the middle of the historic center; those arriving with a specific appointment should pay close attention to the agreed times. This keeps the visit well-planned. The simple, clear communication of address, opening hours, book acceptance, and appointment coordination makes the house practically usable. This is an important SEO and user factor at the same time because many search queries are not only about beauty but also about concrete orientation. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

Who AKUSO Regensburg is Particularly Interesting For

AKUSO Regensburg addresses several target groups that often do not find themselves simultaneously in classic event venues. First, there is the group of book lovers who specifically search for used and nearly new books, browse for specialized literature, or are interested in topics such as history, archaeology, art, theology, and medicine. For them, the book salon on the ground floor is a strong attraction. Then there are people who appreciate cultural events in a smaller setting: readings, lectures, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions benefit here from the calm, historic atmosphere. Additionally, there are visitors who are interested in Regensburg itself and are looking for places where city history, culture, and the present come together. The Haidplatz and the House Zur Arch provide exactly this background. Finally, the forum is also exciting for social, educational, and intergenerational concerns, as the cooperation with AktionKulturSozial since early 2015 has explicitly focused on conveying archaeological and historical content for all generations, especially children and young people. This makes the place not only culturally relevant but also educationally oriented. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

This mix is particularly important for digital visibility. Those searching for akuso regensburg gmbh photos usually want to see what to expect first. Those searching for akuso regensburg opening hours or akuso regensburg address need orientation. Those searching for akuso regensburg events, readings, workshops, or exhibitions are interested in content and programs. And those searching for regensburg old town culture or haidplatz regensburg want to place the location in its urban context. AKUSO fulfills these different search intentions because it is not just a store and not just an event space, but a consciously designed forum. The official website, program publications, and historical embedding together show that a location with profile exists here. For visitors, this means: one can come to browse, for events, for book acceptance, or simply for a quiet, culturally shaped visit to the old town. This openness makes the place versatile and interesting in the long term. Those who want to experience Regensburg in a concentrated, cultural, and at the same time personal way will find a very suitable point of contact here. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

In summary, AKUSO Regensburg GmbH stands for a special mix of book culture, social commitment, historic ambiance, and a lively event program. The address at Haidplatz, the clear opening hours, the book acceptance at Obere Bachgasse 21, the non-accessible but characterful stage on the upper floor, and the content-driven program orientation together create a credible profile. Especially for search queries with local relevance, such as akuso regensburg photos, akuso regensburg book salon, akuso regensburg events, or haidplatz regensburg, this place is very well explainable and clearly positionable. The forum is not a loud event palace but a carefully curated cultural place with history, attitude, and practical relevance. Those who understand this quickly recognize why AKUSO is a small address with a big character in Regensburg. ([akuso-regensburg.de](https://akuso-regensburg.de/))

A truly wonderful place. Downstairs you can buy used books. They have everything from novels to travel and psychology books. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making it a really welcoming place. Upstairs there are exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. The monthly program is available in the shop, and you can also subscribe to the monthly newsletter. When we were there, they even had a student discount! 🌺

AKUSO, as a forum for culture and social issues, not only offers fantastic charitable work but also a truly wonderful bookstore with amazing secondhand treasures. I can wholeheartedly recommend the bookstore; in addition to the very friendly staff, you'll find a really wide selection of used books in excellent condition. Furthermore, all proceeds from book sales are donated – it doesn't get any better than that! That's why it gets 5/5 stars :)
