Old Malting House Regensburg | Program & Tickets

The Old Malting House in Regensburg is much more than just a classic event location: The venue combines a cultural center, performance space, gastronomy, and meeting point for various scenes in one place at Galgenbergstraße 20. The city of Regensburg lists the Old Malting House as a cultural center, music venue, theater, and event location; the official venue page describes the house as a place with a club, underground, bar, and beer garden, along with a program that has been firmly established in Regensburg for years. This very mix is what makes it appealing: It’s not just about a single format, but about many layers of culture, encounters, and evening entertainment. Therefore, those searching for Old Malting House Regensburg often mean not only concerts but also parties, cabaret, comedy, theater, private celebrations, or a relaxed visit to the beer garden. The venue consciously appears casual yet professional, as the operators emphasize that the spaces are rented and the special flair of the place should be preserved. Program, Concerts, Comedy, and Theater at the Old Malting House

The program is the strongest search topic surrounding the Old Malting House Regensburg, and the sources clearly show why: The official website lists concerts, parties, cabaret, comedy, theater, and celebrations as recurring formats and describes the offerings as exceptionally diverse. The cultural center's page also states that the program is supported by various partners, including the guest and performance venue, the Old Malting House association, the cultural agency Alex Bolland, as well as numerous external organizers and cultural creators. The city of Regensburg confirms this cultural mandate and describes the house as a place for a wide range of contemporary culture, ranging from concerts of different music genres to cabaret, small arts, theater, readings, workshops, and club nights. This is particularly important for search intent because many users searching for the keyword program not only want an overview but a reliable assessment of what kind of evening they can expect here. The Old Malting House meets this expectation because it is not a mono-functional hall but a flexible venue with a very open concept of culture. Examples from the event pages of the city additionally show that the house is used for music, comedy, spoken word formats, festival evenings, and dance productions. This speaks to a profile that consciously navigates between scene, pop culture, and urban club culture. Therefore, those looking for a versatile cultural program will find not a narrow focus here but a broad, vibrant mix of local and regional formats. ([maelze-regensburg.de](https://www.maelze-regensburg.de/programm/?utm_source=openai))

Especially for search terms like old malting house regensburg program or old malting house events, it is important that the location not only offers individual highlights but is a regularly used venue. The venue page emphasizes that internal and external organizers shape the program and that anyone who wants to contribute is welcome. This creates an operation that cannot be reduced to a rigid sequence of formats but relies on ongoing curatorial diversity. The Old Malting House thus acts as a cultural engine in the district and in the Regensburg scene: sometimes a concert hall, sometimes a club, sometimes a place for readings or cabaret, sometimes a stage for a private celebration. For SEO, this is particularly valuable because seekers are highly likely to be searching for this mix of current use and reliable cultural profile. Therefore, the best substantive answer to program inquiries is not only that there are events but that the house stands for regular, genre-crossing, and publicly accessible cultural formats. Additionally, for those wanting to assess the atmosphere of a place in advance, the decisive addition is: The Old Malting House is approachable, lively, and consciously not elitist but designed for direct audience proximity. Tickets, Pre-sale, and Reservations for the Old Malting House

When searching for old malting house regensburg tickets, the official info line is the most important source, as it clearly describes pre-sale, reservations, and discounts. The office of the Old Malting House is open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM; tickets can be purchased on-site during this time or online via the linked pre-sale. Additionally, telephone reservations are possible, and reserved tickets for the box office must be picked up at least half an hour before the event begins. For many visitors, this is the practical information that counts before a visit: not only that tickets are available but also how binding the reservation is handled. The Old Malting House communicates this relatively clearly and service-oriented, which is an important quality feature for a cultural center with many organizers. So, for those looking for the best booking option, there are two ways: classic pre-sale during office hours or online ticket reservation. This is particularly relevant for concert and club nights, where the pre-sale can sell out quickly. ([alte-maelzerei.de](https://www.alte-maelzerei.de/de/tickets.php))

The price structure is also clearly described: Members of the Old Malting House e.V. receive a discount of 2.50 euros per event; students, pupils, and civil and military service members receive a discount of 1 euro on the box office price upon proof. These details are important for visitors because they show that the Old Malting House is not just an event venue but also a club and cultural place with its own funding structure. Search queries like old malting house tickets or old malting house pre-sale can thus be answered concretely without remaining vague. The online pre-sale is explicitly mentioned on the official site, and the operators link the ticket topic directly with the service area of the house. This means for the visitor: Those who plan early get the most options; those who come spontaneously should pay attention to the pick-up deadlines for reserved tickets. For a good user experience, it is also helpful to keep an eye on the office hours, as they govern both pre-sale and telephone reservations. This creates a very clear, practical ticket logic that makes a difference, especially at popular concerts, parties, and cabaret evenings. Access, Parking, and Public Transport to the Old Malting House

The access to the Old Malting House Regensburg is well documented and easy for visitors to follow. For arrivals from outside, the official site recommends the Passau-Regensburg highway, the University exit, and then the route down towards the university, where one reaches Galgenbergstraße. At the intersection or traffic light, turn left onto Bischof-Konrad-Straße. Those coming from the city drive over the Galgenberger Bridge past Cinemaxx, over the Furtmayrstraße intersection, and then straight up the hill; after about 200 meters, the building is on the right side. This route description is particularly helpful for search queries like old malting house access or old malting house parking because it not only names the street but describes the way from two directions in detail. Additionally, the official access page mentions that parking is available in the immediate vicinity, but there are no parking spaces in the courtyard of the Old Malting House. This point is important because many visitors intuitively want to park directly at the house. For planning a relaxed evening, it is therefore sensible to plan a few minutes of walking and to understand the surroundings as the primary parking space. ([alte-maelzerei.de](https://www.alte-maelzerei.de/de/anfahrt.php))

The connection with public transport is also clear: The page mentions bus lines 6 and 10, each with the stop Haydnstraße. This makes the Old Malting House easily accessible even without a car, especially for visitors who want to forgo the car after a concert or club night. In practice, this is an advantage for many types of events because the house is used until late in the evening, and returning by bus or taxi remains a relaxed solution. From an SEO perspective, this section is particularly relevant because seekers for a location almost always ask about practical details such as parking, route, and public transport before buying tickets. The Old Malting House provides a clear answer here: central location in Regensburg, good orientation via Galgenbergstraße, public transport access by bus, and parking in the vicinity instead of directly in the courtyard. So, whether coming from downtown, the train station, or outside, visitors receive a comprehensible and practical orientation. For a cultural and concert venue, this is exactly the kind of information density that builds trust and lowers the threshold for the first visit. ([alte-maelzerei.de](https://www.alte-maelzerei.de/de/anfahrt.php))

Rooms, Capacities, and Equipment: Club, Underground, Theater, Cartoon, and Beer Garden

The Old Malting House Regensburg is spatially unusually versatile, and the official room pages clearly show this. The club is the largest event space of the venue and is described as the main room; according to the official site, events with up to 400 people can take place there, with about 200 seated and up to 400 unseated possible. The city of Regensburg lists the club in its list of event venues with a capacity of 200 to 350 people and also confirms that seating is possible. The room is 180 square meters large, has a stage of about 25 square meters, and is described as a very immediate venue due to its unusual stage shape, rustic character, and rather low ceiling. This fits well with search queries like old malting house photos or old malting house club, as a clear picture can be formed even before the visit: not an anonymous hall, but a room with character and proximity between the audience and the stage. This is a strong combination for concerts, readings, cabaret, and parties. ([maelze-regensburg.de](https://www.maelze-regensburg.de/club/?utm_source=openai))

The underground complements the club with a smaller, distinctly club-like cellar stage. Officially, it is 97 square meters large and accommodates about 70 seated or 150 unseated; the city of Regensburg names the room for events and concerts and confirms a capacity of 150 people. The website describes the underground as a place for alternative parties and concerts, raves, punk, and metal shows, thus as a space for direct, scene-oriented programming. The cartoon, in turn, is the bar or café of the Old Malting House: The room is 98 square meters large and offers around 45 seats or about 70 unseated places. It is used for closed events and is particularly suitable for birthdays, graduation, or farewell parties, according to the operators. The beer garden in the courtyard is the summery counterpart: with a natural stage and beach chairs, with drinks and food, and with a usage where artists, DJs, and courtyard festival formats can also take place. The official website states that the beer garden is open from 5 PM in good weather, with warm food available from 6 PM, and is used from Tuesday to Sunday. For the location as a whole, this means: The Old Malting House is not just an event venue but a house with several atmospherically completely different zones that can have very different effects depending on the occasion and audience. This very range makes it so attractive for events, celebrations, and cultural formats. ([maelze-regensburg.de](https://www.maelze-regensburg.de/underground-2/?utm_source=openai))

Accessibility and Practical Visitor Information

For visitors with mobility impairments, the Old Malting House provides clear and helpful information. The service page states that the club, underground, and theater are accessible via the entrance in the courtyard. For the club, one should notify the box office in advance so that the door can be opened; for the underground and theater hall, there is an elevator, and the accessible toilet is located on the 1st floor and is also reachable via the elevator. This information is not only practical but also important for the perception of the location because it shows that the house does not think of its different rooms in isolation but organizes them as an accessible cultural center. In a city location with several levels and cellar space, this is a significant advantage. For search queries like old malting house accessible or old malting house regensburg tickets, it is therefore crucial that visitors do not have to search long but receive concrete hints immediately. The operators also combine this information with the clear office hours of the pre-sale and personal availability by phone and email, which underscores the service-oriented approach. This creates a visit image that appears more inviting than complicated. ([alte-maelzerei.de](https://www.alte-maelzerei.de/de/tickets.php))

There are also reliable key data for the general flow of a visit: The office is open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM, the pre-sale runs during these times on-site and additionally online, and ticket reservations can be made by phone. Those using the Old Malting House as an event venue thus benefit from a structured but not overloaded service. This is particularly helpful for guests who still have questions about tickets, access, or routes before their visit. For the club, it is also described that the event technology, lighting, and sound equipment are professionally designed, which is especially relevant for concerts and scenic evenings. Nevertheless, the most important message for the visitor remains very simple: The Old Malting House is not only culturally diverse but also well-organized. This is especially a strong argument for people looking for a location with as few hurdles as possible, in combination with the courtyard access, the elevator, and the clear ticket pathways. Those who pay attention to visitor-friendliness will find a place here that convinces both atmospherically and practically. ([alte-maelzerei.de](https://www.alte-maelzerei.de/de/tickets.php))

History, Profile, and Special Atmosphere of the Old Malting House

The Old Malting House Regensburg is seen by the city as a place of continuous development. In the cultural database, the city describes the cultural center as a house for a wide range of cultural activities, ranging from concerts of different music genres to cabaret, small arts, theater, readings, and contemporary dance to lectures, discussions, workshops, and club nights. It is also emphasized that the house offers several event rooms and production possibilities for all genres, including rehearsal rooms, studios, and seminar rooms. It serves as a meeting and communication place for various initiatives and groups, and the approach is genre-crossing and internationally oriented. This is particularly valuable for the content positioning because the Old Malting House thus does not simply appear as an event hall but as a cultural ecosystem with its own profile. The official venue appearance complements this picture with the note that the house has been a term in Regensburg for years and that the special flair of the place should be preserved. Together, this creates a clear image: historical charm but no museum character; versatility but no arbitrariness. ([regensburg.de](https://www.regensburg.de/kultur/kulturdatenbank/eintrag/116572))

This very mix of tradition and present makes the Old Malting House so interesting for search engines and users alike. Those searching for old malting house photos usually want an impression of atmosphere, spatial feeling, and audience proximity; those searching for old malting house restaurant or old malting house beer garden expect not only food and drink but a lively nightlife scene; and those searching for old malting house regensburg program want to know if the house is culturally relevant and currently active. The sources show that all these expectations can be met, but in a rather unpretentious, down-to-earth way. The Old Malting House is not a glossy location but a house with identity, where one experiences proximity to the stage, different rooms, and a clear scene orientation. At the same time, the operation remains professional: there is pre-sale, reservation, accessibility, multiple rooms, and very clear visitor information. This is ideal for content and SEO because here an emotional place meets hard facts. The Old Malting House thus exemplifies modern cultural venues in Regensburg: flexible, open, interdisciplinary, and close to its audience. ([maelze-regensburg.de](https://www.maelze-regensburg.de/))

I played here with my band during the event known as Dungeon Fire. It was an honor to be here, spend time with the lovely people that visited and made that night unforgettable for me and my bandmates. It felt like a dream come true. Let us hope it won't be the last time! Regensburg is awesome and die Alte Mälzerei is a blessing for the community. Stay cool, people!

Sauna With a Soundtrack! Alte Mälzerei is the kind of place that asks, "How many people can we legally fit into a toaster oven?" and then immediately ignores the answer. It was so hot inside I’m pretty sure I lost 3 kg just standing still. Small venue? More like cozy if your idea of cozy includes becoming intimately familiar with the sweat patterns of total strangers. That said, the crowd was alive, the vibes were strong, and the music made it feel like a very enthusiastic fever dream. If you like your concerts hot, tight, and slightly dehydrating, this is your place. Would I go back? Sure after installing an internal cooling system. 🧊🍺

If you are looking for a place that shows smaller, independent or alternative bands, plays, poetry slams or anything along those lines, the Alte Mälzerei is the place you want to visit first. As an old malthouse you can imagine the interesting and quirky architecture! Gigs can be held inside and outside depending on the time of year and weather and they have all kind of drinks there for a reasonable price! I highly recommend looking up what kind of events are upcoming if you happen to be in the area, as it will most definitely be amazing! There is also a small pub adjoint to the Mälzerei (Cartoon) if you want to have a more relaxed evening :)

The place could be rented for private purposes, like weddings or birthdays.
