Parking and Getting to the Danube Arena Regensburg
Parking at the Danube Arena, ice skating at Danube Arena Regensburg, and events at Danube Arena Regensburg play a central role in the journey. The delivery and visitor address is Walhalla-Allee 22, 93059 Regensburg. The arena is easily accessible by public transport: During home games of the Eisbären Regensburg, line D runs from Regensburg main station to the Danube Arena stop, usually 1 hour and 15 minutes before the game starts or from 45 minutes before the game starts from the main station; for other events, line D operates from the main station every 20 minutes until shortly before the event starts, while for selected events, a 10-minute interval is mentioned starting 1.5 hours before the start. Additionally, the hall can be reached by bus line 5; from the Gewerbepark/Donau-Arena stop, it is about 800 meters on foot. For drivers, it is important to know that over 1,000 parking spaces are available in the east parking lot of the Danube Arena. Visitors with a disability ID find reserved parking spaces in close proximity to the west entrance as well as additional wheelchair-accessible spaces in the large east parking lot. These spaces are free, and the ID must be presented at the access controls. For accessibility, wheelchair spaces are also provided on the concourse level and in the interior, with accompanying spaces nearby. Accessible sanitary facilities are located on the concourse level and on the ground floor. Those planning a specific route also benefit from the clear contact structure of the arena: Operations manager Peter Lautenschlager is mentioned on the official access page, as well as the ticket office and hotline. This makes the Danube Arena a location where access and parking are not just ancillary information but an essential part of visitor planning. Especially for large events, timely arrival is worthwhile to keep access, parking search, and the way to the entrance relaxed. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/kontakt-anfahrt/arenen))
Events, Tickets, and Seating Plan
The search cluster Danube Arena events, Danube Arena Regensburg events, Danube Arena tickets, and Danube Arena seating plan clearly shows that the hall is much more than just an ice surface. On the official event page, it states that more than 60 events take place at the Danube Arena each year. The spectrum ranges from concerts and shows to sports events, trade fairs, conferences, workshops, and extraordinary celebrations. The Regensburg Tourism GmbH even describes the location as the largest event venue in Eastern Bavaria and mentions a capacity range of 20 to 7,400 people for bookable events. This versatility is the reason why the arena is so attractive for different audience situations: For music acts, family programs, corporate events, or trade fair formats, the space can be utilized differently. Tickets for events are available online at Eventim and on-site at the Regensburg Tourism GmbH at Rathausplatz 3 in Regensburg. The seating plan is intentionally not rigid, as the spatial flexibility of the arena allows for a stage position at the head end, but also in numerous other areas of the location. Depending on the event, different seating plans are used, and which plan applies can be found out at the ticket sales points. This is practical for event visitors, as it allows for different sightlines, row solutions, and interior concepts. The Danube Arena thus becomes a place where the seating plan is always part of the event dramaturgy. So, if you are looking for not just a ticket but also the right seat selection, you should check the respective layout of the event. Especially for concerts, shows, and sports events, this is a real advantage because the hall can flexibly adapt to the requirements of production, audience, and stage design. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/donau-arena/veranstaltungen))
Capacity, Rooms, and Technical Equipment
An important part of the search queries regarding Danube Arena capacity concerns the size of the hall and its technical possibilities. Officially, the main arena is described as an area of 60 by 30 meters, with a total capacity of up to 7,400 people. The stands offer 2,985 seats and 1,727 standing places, and the interior can accommodate up to 1,500 seats or up to 2,650 standing places. The clear height is 11 meters, and the ceiling height varies between 15.50 and 18 meters depending on the area. This makes the hall suitable for compact sports formats as well as for elaborate show and concert productions. Technically, the Danube Arena is designed for large productions: The hanging load is up to 30 tons, power connections are available up to 1,200 amperes, and there is also stage, curtains, lighting and sound technology, and dressing rooms. The training hall complements the ensemble as another large room measuring 58 by 29 meters, with almost 1,700 square meters of space and a lighting height of 7 meters. It can be booked individually or in combination with the main arena depending on the needs. Here, too, the use remains flexible: Without ice, the training hall can be used for events from mid-April to mid-June, during ice hockey games, standing places for up to 250 people are possible, and for other events up to 1,000. In addition, there are smaller rooms such as the business lounge with 80 square meters for up to 40 people and the VIP lounge with 110 square meters for up to 50 people. The lounge on the second floor offers a view of the ice hall, a catering bar, and depending on the event, even a projector or podium. Additionally, the arena describes rooms and catering for parties, corporate events, trade fairs, conferences, and meetings for 20 to 2,000 people. This makes it clear: The Danube Arena is not only large but also modular. This combination of capacity, room offerings, and technology is the reason why the location remains relevant for both sports and culture, business, and live entertainment. History and Special Highlights of the Danube Arena
Since its opening in April 1999, the Danube Arena has held a fixed place in Regensburg's event and ice sports life. In the 25-year flyer of the Stadtwerk-Regensburg group, it is described as a top event venue in Eastern Bavaria; it is also mentioned that Bruce Springsteen performed at the opening. The retrospective on 25 years also shows how strongly the hall is associated with well-known names and great moments. Among others, Pink, Bryan Adams, Helene Fischer, Die Fantastischen Vier, and Eros Ramazzotti are mentioned. At the same time, the arena remains closely connected to ice sports: It is home to the Eisbären Regensburg, there is public ice skating in winter, and curling as well as figure skating are also part of the offering. The combination of top-level sports and pop culture gives the hall its special character. Additionally, it has the historical role of succeeding the ice stadium at the Nibelungen Bridge, which was replaced by the new multifunctional hall. This development explains why the Danube Arena is perceived today as a flexibly usable event venue. The compact construction, good accessibility, and proximity between artists and audience are expressly mentioned as strengths in the anniversary flyer. For Regensburg, the arena is thus not just a sports hall but a significant part of the urban event landscape. Those searching for history, special features, or an emotional location profile will find in the Danube Arena a location with a clear profile: wintry, loud, flexible, audience-friendly, and firmly anchored in the cultural memory of the city for decades. This mix of tradition, stars, ice hockey, and public leisure offerings makes it one of the most well-known places in the region even today.
The female toilet isn't enough for the big event so I had to use the men's toilet instead. The seats are quite small for tall guys. The sound and lighting system for stage performance are all great.

The lady at the ticket sale was very unpleasant this morning. If you buy a ticket only for your child, you cannot lease skates for her/him, because an adult ID is needed for leasing skates. You need to buy a ticket and then go in to lease skates, although you don’t want to skate.
