Hotel St. Georg | Regensburg & Conferences

The Hotel St. Georg in Regensburg combines family tradition with modern hospitality – and has been doing so for decades. Located in the south of the city, not far from the university, this privately owned establishment with two buildings and a total of 68 rooms offers a quiet location, excellent transport connections, and short distances to the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. Whether traveling for business, planning a conference, or wanting to spend a few relaxing days in the Danube city, you will find a reliable base here: free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, friendly reception hours, a versatile breakfast offer, and practical parking options right at the hotel. The expansion in 2011 created additional comfort rooms and two modern conference rooms – perfect for seminars, workshops, and meetings. Bus stops are just a few minutes' walk away, making the city center easily accessible without a car. Whether as a solo traveler, with family, in a team, or in a group: The Hotel St. Georg offers uncomplicated comfort, a personal atmosphere, and thoughtful services that make your stay in Regensburg manageable, efficient, and pleasant.

Directions and Parking at Hotel St. Georg Regensburg

Getting here is particularly easy thanks to the convenient location. If coming via the A3, switch at the motorway junction (No. 99) to the A93 towards Regensburg (City Center). From the A93, take the exit “Regensburg-Kumpfmühl” (No. 43), turn right at the traffic light onto Augsburger Straße, and follow it to the next traffic light. There, turn left onto Karl-Stieler-Straße – the hotel is located at house number 8-9. For navigation, it is recommended to enter “Karl-Stieler-Straße 8, 93051 Regensburg” or the GPS coordinates 48.997355, 12.0766709. Guests arriving by train can reach the hotel from the main train station by taxi in just a few minutes or conveniently with the RVV buses (see public transport section). Particularly convenient for drivers: Free outdoor parking is available in the courtyard right at the hotel. Additionally, the hotel offers its own underground garage, which is especially useful for longer stays, in bad weather, or for more valuable vehicles. The underground garage costs €9 per night and has a maximum entrance height of 2 m; this is important for vehicles with roof boxes or vans. In the garage, there are three Type-2 charging stations with up to 22 kW charging power available – ideal for electric cars overnight. Those traveling by bicycle can securely park it in a separate area of the underground garage; e-bikes can also be charged there. The outdoor parking lot is suitable for vans up to 3.5 tons; for even larger vehicles or trailers, the surrounding streets are recommended. Thanks to the quiet location in the southern part of the city and the clear access description, arriving is stress-free – and once in the courtyard, check-in and luggage transport are quick and comfortable.

Conferences and Events at Hotel St. Georg Regensburg

As a compact, modern conference location, Hotel St. Georg specializes in business events of small to medium size. Two bright rooms – “Donautal” and “Regental” – form the heart of the venue. “Donautal” offers approximately 92 m² (11.3 x 7.5 x 2.8 m) with access to the terrace and is suitable for about 50 people in parliamentary seating or approximately 34 people in U-shape. “Regental” encompasses about 67 m² (9.3 x 7.3 x 2.8 m), also with terrace access, and accommodates about 40 people in parliamentary style or about 26 people in U-shape. By opening the partition wall, a combined area of around 158 m² is created – ideal for larger plenary sessions, product presentations, or training sessions with up to about 90 people (parliamentary) or around 46 people (U-shape). Both rooms are equipped with fast internet via Wi-Fi and LAN, air conditioning, natural light, and reliable blackout options. The seating can be adjusted as desired, allowing for circle seating or cinema-style arrangements. Planning security is ensured by a well-thought-out conference package as a sample offer: The air-conditioned, darkenable room is provided including standard technology (projector, screen, two flip charts, four pin boards, moderator case). In the break area, there is a coffee machine with various coffee and tea specialties. In the morning, there is a hearty break with snacks and a fruit basket; at lunchtime, a 2-course menu including a drink; in the afternoon, a sweet break, also with fruit. Of course, Wi-Fi/LAN usage and notepads are included. Free parking options right at the hotel are particularly convenient for day guests. Prices and procedures can be flexibly adjusted – from pure room rental to beverage and coffee packages to complete catering. For multi-day events, room contingents can be booked. Those who precisely outline their agenda, number of participants, and technical needs in the inquiry form will quickly receive a tailored offer. This way, a compact conference becomes an efficient meeting with short distances, reliable technology, and personal support.

Rooms, Long-Stay, and Services – What Guests Can Expect

The hotel has been family-owned since 1965 and was expanded in 2011 with a second building complex across the street. A total of 68 rooms are available – with a minimum bed width of 140 cm. 30 rooms can accommodate up to four people, with a sofa bed provided from the third person onwards. Thanks to the layout across two buildings, individual travelers, families, and teams can find the suitable category; additionally, there are apartments with a fitted kitchen, which are particularly appreciated for longer stays. As a non-smoking hotel, the establishment provides clear areas for smoking outdoors. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel, facilitating remote work, streaming, or video conferences. Check-in is possible from 3:00 PM, and check-out is until 11:00 AM. Breakfast is served on weekdays from 6:30 to 10:00 AM, on weekends and Bavarian holidays from 7:30 to 11:00 AM; external guests can participate in the buffet for €18.00 per person after registration by the day before. Convenient for cyclists: There is a bicycle compartment in the underground garage with charging options for e-bikes. Those traveling without a kettle can borrow one free of charge at the reception; this equipment is standard in the apartments. Allergy-friendly bedding is included in all rooms as standard. A classic laundry service is not offered directly on-site, but the reception can send laundry to a nearby laundry service on weekdays (return usually on the same day if dropped off before 9 AM; not available on weekends/public holidays). An ironing service is not offered, but irons and ironing boards can be borrowed. In terms of accessibility, many rooms are reachable by elevator; however, the reception area – as well as four rooms – is not fully step-free accessible. This transparency regarding the conditions facilitates planning in advance and ensures that every stay fits individual needs.

Restaurant “Zum Ritter St. Georg” – Focused on Groups & Conferences

The in-house restaurant “Zum Ritter St. Georg” is the culinary complement for groups and conferences. Five different rooms in a cozy-rustic style together provide around 130 seats; the largest area – two of the rooms combined – accommodates about 60 people. Currently, the restaurant is open exclusively for groups and conference parties. For individual guests, the team gladly recommends nearby restaurants within walking distance or refers to the diverse gastronomy of the Regensburg Old Town. The advantage for organizers is clear: Groups receive coordinated meal and schedule concepts that seamlessly integrate into the conference architecture of the hotel – from breakfast to coffee breaks to communal lunches or dinners in a closed setting. Short distances, fixed reservations, and a kitchen that focuses on hearty classics facilitate time management and create a connecting framework for networking and team discussions. For example, if planning a workshop with 40 to 60 people, you can use the technical and spatial advantages of the conference rooms during the day and simply move the shared meal to one of the adjacent restaurant rooms. For smaller groups, separable areas are available that allow for a discreet conversation atmosphere. Individual travelers can benefit from recommendations from the reception team: Whether Bavarian cuisine, international specialties, or a quick snack – suitable options can be found within a few minutes' walk, while the Old Town, with its dense restaurant and beer garden landscape, is easily accessible by bus or a short drive. This way, the hotel combines the comfort of in-house catering for groups with the culinary diversity of Regensburg for individual guests.

Public Transport, Airports, and Surroundings – Quick Access to the Old Town

If you want to leave the car behind, you can easily reach the city center with the Regensburg Transport Association (RVV). From the hotel, several stops are within short distance: Line 2 serves the stops “Graßer Weg” (about 290 m) and “Karl-Stieler-Straße” (about 300 m); line 7 stops at “Otto-Wels-Straße” (about 280 m); and line 16 goes to “Von-Richthofen-Straße” (about 160 m). Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus; the RVV app is also convenient for schedules and mobile tickets. From the main train station – about 3 km away – you can quickly reach the hotel depending on the time of day with the mentioned lines or by taxi. For long-distance arrivals, the international airports of Munich and Nuremberg are almost equidistant: Munich Airport is about 109 km by car, while Nuremberg is approximately 107 km away. Those traveling without a rental car can use the regionally known shuttle service from Munich Airport that connects to Regensburg; alternatively, train and long-distance bus connections are available. Due to its location in the southern part of the city, the routes are short – to the university, into the city center, onto the motorway, and to surrounding commercial areas. This makes Hotel St. Georg a practical base for both business travelers with appointments in the city and surrounding areas and for city trips with visits to the Old Town, museums, or castle tours. Thanks to the clear bus connections and parking options directly at the hotel, the stay can be flexibly planned between public transport and car.

Avoiding Name Confusion – How to Find the Right “Hotel St. Georg”

“Hotel St. Georg” is a popular name in the German-speaking world – accordingly, many results with different cities appear in search engines. Those looking for the establishment in Regensburg should pay attention to the address “Karl-Stieler-Straße 8-9, 93051 Regensburg” and the telephone area code +49 941. Frequent confusions arise with similarly named establishments in other locations, such as Celle, Hamburg, Bad Reichenhall, Bad Aibling (Bavaria), Leipzig, Neubrandenburg, Mayrhofen, or at Lake Achensee; even international variants like “Hotel St. George” in Helsinki appear in autocomplete. However, these results refer to other businesses and not to the family-run hotel in the southern part of Regensburg. A quick plausibility check helps: Do the postal code (93051), city (Regensburg), and street name (Karl-Stieler-Straße) match your booking confirmation or map search? Is the proximity to the university mentioned as a location hint? Then you are at the right place. Those who contact by phone or email can reach the reception during published hours; for late arrivals, a key box is available if arranged in advance. These simple tips save detours and ensure that arrival, parking, check-in, and conference logistics are planned at the correct location – exactly where Hotel St. Georg has welcomed guests in Regensburg since 1965.

The mattress was very soft even for my 65kg. Small toilet, like in a closet with a fan.. otherwise everything was good. Breakfast was sufficient. Bus connection was perfect with a 7€ day ticket.

We stayed here on our way to and from Berlin to Berchtesgaden. The accessible room was large and very well equipped. We were satisfied with the breakfast, and in the afternoon upon arrival, we were well taken care of at the nearby beer garden.
