Hubertushöhe | Restaurant & Bauerntheater Regensburg

The Hubertushöhe in Regensburg combines a Bavarian inn, hotel, and event location with a special feature that makes it widely known in the city: In the large festival hall, the traditional Regensburg Bauern theater performs. The inn is located on Ziegetsberg in the ensemble-protected Ganghofer settlement and offers a quiet, green environment "above the rooftops" – ideal for relaxed restaurant visits, sociable evenings in the beer garden, or larger celebrations. Guests appreciate the hearty cuisine, freshly tapped Kneitinger beer, and the warm service, as well as the good accessibility by bus and parking options directly at the house. Those who do not want to drive after the theater or a celebration can comfortably book one of the in-house rooms. This makes the Hubertushöhe a versatile destination for connoisseurs, culture fans, and organizers who want to combine authentic Bavarian flair with reliable infrastructure.

Bavarian Cuisine, Menu, and Opening Hours at Hubertushöhe

As a classic Bavarian inn, the Hubertushöhe stands for hearty food and cozy hospitality. The kitchen focuses on regional classics – from crispy pork roast and various schnitzel variations to hearty pan dishes and sweet delicacies like Kaiserschmarrn. Accordingly, Kneitinger beer is served, which is particularly popular in the beer garden when freshly tapped. This culinary direction aligns with guest feedback and the published information of the location; the menu is seasonally supplemented, allowing returning visitors to look forward to variety without having to give up their favorites. A practical tip: If you want to eat before the theater visit, plan some buffer time – this way, there is enough time to enjoy several courses leisurely before it’s time for the curtain to rise in the festival hall.

When looking at the usual opening and kitchen hours, it is advisable to orient oneself to the currently communicated reservation times. Typically, lunch service is open between about 12:00 and 13:45 (on Sundays, lunch service starts around 11:30). In the evening, service begins at 17:30; the kitchen closes depending on the day of the week between about 20:00 and 21:00, usually a bit earlier on Sundays than on weekdays. These time windows correspond with the common specifications used for online reservations. Since gastronomy businesses adjust their hours seasonally or on holidays, it is best for those planning a celebration or wanting to dine safely before a performance to check the specific times on the reservation day. For groups, it is advisable to pre-order selected dishes to speed up processes, especially on theater evenings with high demand.

As part of its positioning as an inn, a clear service culture is also important. At Hubertushöhe, emphasis is placed on friendly, prompt service – something that is repeatedly highlighted in feedback, including praise for short waiting times despite full halls. For families, it is important: The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, children are welcome; in summer, the shady beer garden offers plenty of space. Vegetarian options are part of the menu, and the kitchen is happy to accommodate simple adjustments upon request. Those looking for a round conclusion can treat themselves to a Bavarian digestif after the main course and dessert – before comfortably heading home on foot or by bus, or to one of the rooms in the house if an overnight stay is planned.

Bauern Theater at Hubertushöhe: Program, Tickets, and Seating Plan

A unique feature of the Hubertushöhe is that the Regensburg Bauern theater performs here – a true original with roots dating back to 1921. The ensemble has made a name for itself with humorous, down-to-earth pieces that combine a lot of local color and situational comedy in three acts. Performances take place in the festival hall of Hubertushöhe on Ziegetsberg. With the start of the theater season, regular performances are held on Fridays and Saturdays at 20:00; on holidays, performances start at 19:00. Additionally, there are afternoon performances on selected Sundays. Traditionally, the ensemble takes a summer break from June to August, making the autumn and winter – including the pre-Christmas season – particularly rich in theater. So, if you are planning a sociable Christmas party with a cultural program, you will find a proven setting here.

The ticket organization runs through an established advance sale: Tickets are available online, and for last-minute decisions, there is an evening box office phone on performance days to obtain information at short notice. A special feature is the clear, fair pricing model with discounted tickets for children and youth and a uniform price for adults; moreover, there are discounts for larger groups, such as free seats for bus drivers and tour guides. These conditions facilitate the planning of club outings or company evenings. For companies, there is also a practical business subscription with weekly contingents – ideal for regularly securing places on fixed evenings and providing employees and guests with a continuous cultural offering.

Important for seat selection: The Bauern theater provides an online seating plan. Traditionally, seating is arranged at tables – this creates a particularly sociable atmosphere and facilitates service during breaks directly in the hall. Those arriving with a stroller, wheelchair, or larger group should best notify in advance via email so that suitable seats can be reserved. Special dates for closed groups with theater performances are possible by arrangement for 100 persons and above. This modular approach makes the Hubertushöhe a flexible cultural and event address: on one hand, theater in regular operation, on the other hand, tailor-made evenings for clubs, businesses, or private celebrations – always with the option to incorporate the restaurant or beer garden into the visit planning in advance.

Directions and Parking at Hubertushöhe Regensburg

The Hubertushöhe is easily accessible by both car and public transport. For drivers, parking spaces are available directly in front of the house and along the adjacent streets. Additionally, the house has its own hotel parking lot; the fee is 8 EUR per day. Those planning a larger celebration should include travel instructions in the invitation – especially on theater evenings, increased attendance is to be expected due to the popularity of the performances. It is practical that the paths from the parking lot to the inn and to the hall are short, allowing guests with limited mobility to arrive comfortably. For bus events, it is advisable to coordinate the arrival time with the house so that the group arrives together and without haste.

The Hubertushöhe is particularly conveniently reached by city buses. A proven route leads with line 2 to the stop "Geibelplatz," from which it is only about 250 meters on foot to the inn. Alternatively, line 16 to "Von-Richthofen-Straße" (around 300 meters) is suitable, as well as, depending on the day and line offering, lines 26/27 to "Boelckestraße" (about 370 meters on foot). These three nodes reliably cover the area around Ziegetsberg, which is also a clear plus for visitors without a car or for groups wishing for a relaxed arrival and departure. Tip: On theater evenings, it is worth checking the return journeys – those who want to be on the safe side should plan a connection that allows some time after the performance.

For navigation devices, the full address "Wilhelm-Raabe-Straße 1, 93051 Regensburg" is relevant. Since the environment is part of the ensemble-protected Ganghofer settlement, the character of the district remains pleasantly residential; at the same time, one benefits from the proximity to major traffic axes of the city. Those who enjoy a walk before dining can pass by the shady beer garden on the way from the bus or car and take a look at the seats under the old trees. This combination of short distance, quiet location, and good connections is a reason for many to choose the Hubertushöhe for family celebrations and corporate events.

Festival Hall, Stuben, and Capacities for Celebrations and Conferences

The variety of rooms is a core argument for the Hubertushöhe as an event location. The centerpiece is the large festival hall, which can accommodate events for up to 200 people. Here, the Regensburg Bauern theater, larger wedding celebrations, anniversaries, and corporate events take place – with the option for table service and stage program. For smaller to medium-sized gatherings, several stubs and the restaurant can be used: The Ganghofer Stube accommodates up to 32 people, the restaurant up to 33 people, and the Hubertus Stube offers space for up to 56 guests. For focused workshops, meetings, or training sessions, a separate conference room is available; the conference capacity is designed for up to 24 people. This allows for very different formats to be represented in one house – from board meetings with a projector to company anniversaries to family celebrations with dancing.

For event planning, the combination of gastronomy and room offerings is a practical advantage. Buffets, set menus, or a selection menu can be arranged in coordination with the kitchen; the processes are well-rehearsed, which is particularly noticeable on theater evenings. Those needing a stage benefit from the fact that the festival hall is set up for scenic performances; sound and lighting requirements can be adjusted as needed. As a hotel operation, the Hubertushöhe also offers rooms directly in the house – a significant comfort factor for out-of-town guests or celebrations that last into the night. The rooms were renovated in 2013 and are equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, and other amenities; breakfast is served in the morning between 7:00 and 10:00.

Organizationally, the location of the rooms pays off: Short paths between the restaurant, stubs, hall, and beer garden facilitate logistics during the aperitif, when moving to the hall, or during breaks. For organizers, it is helpful to define the number of participants early to block the appropriate room. Those wishing to integrate the Bauern theater as a program point should clarify performance dates and ticket contingents with the ensemble and coordinate menu and break times with the kitchen – this way, a smooth evening without bottlenecks is created. For bus groups, the notes on arrival, disembarkation, and meeting points are part of the fine planning; from 50 people, the theater conditions provide for free seats for bus drivers and tour guides, which simplifies calculations.

Beer Garden Above the Rooftops of the City: Atmosphere and Service

In summer, the beer garden of the Hubertushöhe showcases its strengths. Under old, tall trees, guests sit in the shade and enjoy their freshly tapped Kneitinger beer, hearty snacks, or warm dishes from the menu. Those who appreciate Bavarian beer garden culture will find the right mix of sociability and tranquility here – far from the immediate hustle and bustle of the city center, yet easily accessible. The beer garden is also a relaxed option for families; children have space, and the service is attuned to the typical beer garden dynamics: friendly, present, and prompt. For larger groups, advance reservations in the restaurant are recommended depending on the weather, with the option to take the aperitif outside; this keeps one flexible in case clouds or a cooler evening arise.

The atmosphere inside is mirrored outside: a quality, down-to-earth offering and service with attention to detail. A special feature is the location in the residential environment of the Ganghofer settlement, which is ensemble-protected. This creates a combination of a neighborhood meeting point and a destination for excursionists who consciously drive "up the hill" to eat well and then enjoy a walk with a view towards the city. The Hubertushöhe accounts for this character by welcoming both regular guests and first-time visitors: the menu is familiar, the quality reliable, and yet there are always seasonal accents. For culture fans, it is attractive that on performance days of the Bauern theater, one can combine dining and performance without changing locations – this saves trips and makes the evening planable.

Service and comfort details round off the picture: Wi-Fi is available, the staff speaks English in addition to German, and pets are not allowed in the hotel area – a note that is important for overnight guests. Those arriving by bicycle will find options for parking along the house; for e-bikes, a lock is recommended and – if necessary – inquire about charging options. Since the beer garden is weather-dependent, it is worth making a quick call in case of uncertain forecasts to check if the outdoor seats are open. Overall, this creates a place that combines tradition with pragmatic solutions and thus works excellently both spontaneously and planned.

Prices, Reservations, and Useful Tips for Your Visit

The Hubertushöhe positions itself in the moderate price range; for restaurant reservations, the usual time slots for lunch and dinner are indicated, making both spontaneous visits and fixed bookings easy. Online reservations are possible and provide orientation on available times. If you are planning a theater evening, it is ideal to book a table time about two hours before the performance starts – this way, there is enough time for starters, main courses, and dessert before heading to the festival hall. For the Bauern theater itself, ticket purchases are made through advance sales; groups should contact early for special requests, especially if seats are desired together at specific tables. The clear regulation with discounted children’s and youth rates as well as a uniform adult price simplifies calculations for families and clubs.

For organizers, it is advisable to choose the room offer according to the objectives: Workshops and seminars are well accommodated in the conference room for up to 24 people, family celebrations work excellently in the stubs, and gala evenings or large corporate events belong in the festival hall. Kitchen planning is done in consultation – whether menu, buffet, or reduced selection menu for large groups. Additionally, logistical aspects such as parking management (hotel parking for a fee, access for deliveries), signage in the house, cloakroom organization, and – when integrating theater – coordinating break times come into play. Those who do not want to drive after the celebration can book rooms in the hotel; breakfast the next morning is included in the practical time window between 7:00 and 10:00 for all those who need to leave early or want to take the morning easy.

Several travel options provide planning security: Bus lines 2 (Geibelplatz), 16 (Von-Richthofen-Straße), and 26/27 (Boelckestraße) cover the area with short walking distances. This is useful for avoiding parking searches or not wanting to drive after a sociable evening. For guests coming for the first time, the navigation address "Wilhelm-Raabe-Straße 1, 93051 Regensburg" is recommended. If a celebration goes late, it is advisable to clarify with the reception or event office whether and for how long the hotel parking can be used and how the exit is regulated. And one more practical tip: For photos from weddings or anniversaries, the quiet location around the inn offers atmospheric backgrounds without having to cover long distances – an advantage that often saves time and nerves in the schedule.

A completely successful evening – absolutely recommendable! We were eight at Hubertushöhe in Regensburg for the farmer's theater "The Oracle of Rammersdorf" – and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We met two hours before the show for a meal together, and even then it was clear: Hubertushöhe is a true gem of Bavarian tavern culture. The food was excellent, both in taste and presentation. Our group ordered a variety from the menu: creamy mushrooms with dumplings, fish soup, schnitzel, cordon bleu, steak, and a dish with grilled chicken. Everything was wonderfully seasoned, hearty, spicy, and traditionally presented – just as you would expect in a Bavarian tavern. The desserts at the end were also a delight. The portions are generous, the prices absolutely fair, and the quality top-notch. Despite the high demand – the hall for the farmer's theater was fully booked – the dishes arrived quickly and without waiting times at the table. The staff is excellently coordinated: attentive, friendly, and always present. Drink orders were continuously taken, refilled, and cleared away, even during the theater intermission. No wish was left unfulfilled here. Another plus: Hubertushöhe offers parking right in front of the house and also on the street next door. So you don’t have to search long – a real comfort for guests, especially on theater evenings. The play itself was a lot of fun and rounded off the evening perfectly. The entire organization felt well thought out, professional, and very warm. We will definitely come back – not just for the farmer's theater, but also just to eat. In summer, we have already enjoyed the beautiful beer garden under the chestnut trees, which is also highly recommended.
