Catholic Parish Office St. Francis | Burgweinting & Services
The search patterns show that many people first look for photos, images, reviews, and the exact location in Burgweinting. That is why this text focuses on a clear first impression, reliable orientation, and the question of what makes this place truly special in the everyday life of the community. St. Francis is not just a church in Burgweinting, but a defining center with a parish office, parish hall, liturgical spaces, music, art, and family work. Those who open the parish's page quickly realize that it is not just a single event that stands out, but a whole community life that unfolds through services, groups, festivals, and encounters. The church itself is located at Kirchfeldallee 1, the parish office at Kirchfeldallee 3, and the ensemble is situated at the northern entrance of Regensburg-Burgweinting. Photos, Images, and the First Impression on Site
Especially for a location that many people search for using the terms photos and images, the visual contrast is crucial. St. Francis appears from the outside deliberately restrained and clear, almost like a large, bright block that integrates into the surroundings without being loud. At the same time, the parish center, with the rectory, parish hall, old St. Michael's Church, and cemetery, belongs to a spatially closely defined ensemble. The whole complex is situated on a slightly elevated plateau and marks the transition between the older village center and a growing urban structure. This integration makes the place interesting for visitors who want to see not just a single building but a piece of an evolved community landscape. This connection is particularly valuable for photos, as the forecourt, church building, and historical neighborhood can be read together. ([strasse-der-moderne.de](https://strasse-der-moderne.de/kirchen/regensburg-burgweinting-st-franziskus/))
Inside, a completely different picture opens up. The church space is bright, oval-shaped, and characterized by soft, almost organic lines. Light is directed into the space through a complex roof structure, a Teflon membrane, and different glass surfaces, creating very different moods depending on the time of day and weather. This contrast between the factual outer shell and the lively interior is one of the features that architecture and community media repeatedly highlight. Those interested in images will therefore find here no monotonous sacred architecture but a whole dramaturgy of forecourt, space lock, church space, chapels, and the view of the altar area. This very tension makes the place attractive for visitors who are looking for a special motif, clear form language, or a calm, bright atmosphere. ([strasse-der-moderne.de](https://strasse-der-moderne.de/kirchen/regensburg-burgweinting-st-franziskus/))
Service Times, Parish Office, and Current Offers
Those looking for service times will find a very current calendar on the official page. For St. Francis, regular Saturday evening masses are scheduled at 6 PM, as well as Sunday masses at 8:15 AM and 10:15 AM. In addition, there are other liturgical locations of the parish, such as the Room of Silence and St. Michael, which shows that the community does not use just a single church space but connects several spiritual places. The calendar is clearly structured and makes it easy to plan a visit, as it organizes the celebrations by days of the week and locations. For people who mainly want to know when the actual service is, this is a significant advantage. Thus, the parish is not abstract digitally, but very concretely experienceable. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/gottesdienstordnung/))
The contact methods are also clearly regulated. The parish office is located at Kirchfeldallee 3 and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 to 11 AM and on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 PM. Phone, fax, and email are easily findable on the website, improving practical accessibility. Additionally, there is a broad menu structure with sections for services, sacraments, pastoral care, parish newsletter, event calendar, and other groups. This makes it clear that St. Francis is not just a place for mass but also a service point for baptisms, first communions, confirmations, marriages, confessions, and anointing of the sick. Particularly in a parish with many age groups and different needs, this mix of appointment transparency and pastoral breadth is important, as it creates orientation and invites participation at the same time. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/gottesdienstordnung/))
Directions, Location, and Practical Orientation
For directions, the clear address logic helps first: The parish church is located at Kirchfeldallee 1, the parish office at Kirchfeldallee 3, both in 93055 Regensburg-Burgweinting. The church is situated at the northern entrance of Burgweinting, near the A3, and the parish center is designed as an ensemble with a forecourt, parish hall, and rectory. The official church page also points out the daily opening time of the church from 9 AM until dusk; the key is with the parish office. This is practical for all who plan a quiet visit, a personal prayer, or targeted photo shoots. Those who know the location also understand the spatial role of the complex as a transition between the old village center and the new urban structure. ([strasse-der-moderne.de](https://strasse-der-moderne.de/kirchen/regensburg-burgweinting-st-franziskus/))
However, caution is advised regarding parking. The verified official sources do not provide detailed descriptions of any visitor parking spaces or a separate parking garage. This is helpful information for planning, as it shows that visitors should organize their arrival more through the location and local routes than through a specifically advertised parking offer. The architecture page additionally provides a Google Maps route hint, which facilitates orientation on site. Those arriving by car should therefore check the specific destination points Kirchfeldallee 1 or 3 in advance and plan some buffer for the surroundings. This is not a weakness but fits the calm, embedded location of the parish center and its function as a spiritual place where conscious arrival counts rather than quick passing through. ([strasse-der-moderne.de](https://strasse-der-moderne.de/kirchen/regensburg-burgweinting-st-franziskus/))
History of St. Michael and the Church Construction
Historically, St. Francis has an interesting background. The old St. Michael's Church is attributed by the parish to around 900 years of history; its origins lie in the Romanesque period around 1100. At the same time, a new pastoral center emerged in Burgweinting with the growing urban structure, as the existing church and the parish's requirements no longer matched. At the end of the 1990s, a competition was announced, which was won by König Architects. The foundation stone was laid in 2001, and the new parish church was consecrated in 2004. Thus, St. Francis is a good example of how a new sacred space emerges from an evolved local history without displacing the historical neighborhood. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/spannende-einblicke-in-die-geschichte-von-st-michael/))
The history also includes the engagement of the community itself. The church building association was founded in 1995 to collect funds for the maintenance of the building, the equipment of the parish center, the ancillary facilities, and the organ. This support is important because the ensemble is not just a church space but a lively place with a parish hall, rectory, events, and ongoing care. The modern architectural form deliberately sets a contrast to the old St. Michael's Church: from the outside, the building appears restrained and clear, while inside it unfolds an unusually dynamic spatial form with an oval basic idea, chapels, confession room, and tower. Those interested in church architecture will find an exciting interplay of history, present, and community needs that remains visible in Regensburg-Burgweinting to this day. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/kirchenbauverein/))
Music, Organ, and Art-Space-Church
Music is explicitly part of the parish profile in Burgweinting. The website mentions the St. Francis church choir, the children's choir Franzi-Singers, the youth choir, as well as other ensembles and bands. The church choir covers a wide stylistic range, from Gregorian chant and Latin or German masses to gospels, Taizé songs, and new spiritual songs. It regularly hosts an Advent concert and also organizes weddings and funerals upon request. Choir rehearsals take place in the parish hall at Kirchfeldallee 5. Additionally, the parish is actively looking for more singers and instrumentalists. This shows that music is not an accessory here but a fundamental part of community life and a clear search and brand term at the same time. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/musik-in-der-kirche/))
This musical emphasis became particularly visible with the new organ. Shortly after Easter 2023, its installation began; the instrument comes from the organ building company Eule from Bautzen, and the technical assembly was completed in May 2023. On June 18, 2023, the organ was blessed and put into operation with a first concert, after the church had remained almost two decades without a fixed new instrument. In parallel, the parish's art work has also developed: The art circle has been organizing regular exhibitions of contemporary art in the modern church for about ten years and is accompanied by the diocesan project Being There in Art and Church. Artist talks are also part of this, as well as exchanges about faith, life, and the present. This makes St. Francis a place where music, visual arts, and liturgy mutually reinforce each other. ([bistum-regensburg.de](https://bistum-regensburg.de/news/burgweintinger-pfarrei-freut-sich-ueber-instrument-aus-bautzen))
Families, Children, and Scouts in the Parish
For families and children, the parish offers a wide and well-structured program. The children's church is prepared by parents, is aimed at children aged three to nine, and takes place on Sundays at 10:15 AM in the parish hall. Afterwards, children and families continue together to the parish church to celebrate the Eucharist with the community. Additionally, there are family services that are independently listed on the website, as well as recurring events like the Francis Café, where people from the community and new neighbors come together. Those looking for a church place with genuine everyday proximity will find not only beautiful spaces here but also clear offers for different age groups. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/kinderkirche/))
The youth work is also remarkably vibrant. The scouts have been in Burgweinting since 1997; they belong to the DPSG Regensburg and work with children from seven years old, teenagers, and adults. In addition to friendship, camps, and nature experiences, there is also a clear focus on social engagement and faith. This mix of spirituality and movement fits well with the parish overall, which showcases numerous other groups on its website: altar servers, parish charity, seniors, family circles, women's association, and much more. This creates the image of a community that does not only function on Sundays but is supported throughout the year by encounters, volunteer work, and diverse formats. This very vibrancy is also the reason why search queries for St. Francis Burgweinting target not only photos and addresses but also a genuine community life with many entry points. ([franziskus-burgweinting.de](https://franziskus-burgweinting.de/pfadfinder/))
In summary, St. Francis Burgweinting is a place where current dates, clear paths, architecture, music, and family work come together. Those looking for photos, images, or practical information will find here not only a striking church building but also concrete orientation for the visit, from the parish office to the service to the children's church. This also explains why the parish functions so well digitally: it has a clear address, a lively calendar, and many points of contact for different target groups, without losing sight of its historical neighborhood.
A modern church, simply designed, yet one can discover many small details in its silence and simplicity. The sound of the Eule organ, queen of instruments, is breathtaking and moving. Next door, in St. Michael's Church, is a beautiful Marian grotto.

A beautiful church that's worth visiting or attending services at any time of day or year. The new church is very modern and pleasant, while the old church still retains the typical charm of a smaller, historic church. All in all, very beautiful and always worth a quick stop.
