KÖWE Shopping Center | Opening Hours & Parking

The KÖWE Shopping Center in Regensburg is a classic center for everyday life: short distances, a wide range of shops, gastronomy, and services, as well as free parking make the location particularly practical. The center is located on Dr.-Gessler-Straße in the south of the city and is easily accessible via the A93 and by bus. Those who want to shop quickly, take care of something in the meantime, and lose as little time as possible searching for parking will find a clear, functional structure with several levels, elevators, escalators, and clearly marked entrances. The center's ambition is visible: not large for the sake of size, but compact, clear, and practical for everyday use. Additionally, there are offers for families, a modern service area, an E-charging station, and a concept that aims to bundle errands rather than extend travel. This is exactly what makes KÖWE interesting for many visitors who want to combine their actual shopping with a pharmacy, drugstore, supermarket, snack, or doctor's visit. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/?utm_source=openai))

Opening Hours at KÖWE Shopping Center: When is it worth a visit?

The core opening hours of the KÖWE Shopping Center are Monday to Saturday from 9:30 AM to 8 PM. This covers a large part of the classic shopping day and remains conveniently usable in the evening. Particularly helpful is that many shops open earlier than the center's core hours. Those who need bread, medication, or drugstore items on their way to work in the morning can find what they need before 9:30 AM. The bakery Wünsche opens at 7 AM, the Oasen Pharmacy, dm, and the EDEKA supermarket start at 8 AM. The Action store also begins at 9 AM, while many other shops open at 9:30 AM. This means in practice: The visit can be planned very flexibly, whether you have a short morning stop, shopping after work, or a combination of errands and lunch break in mind. The center is regularly closed on Sundays and public holidays, so it is always worth checking the respective store hours. Especially for queries like opening hours, today, Sunday, or varying times, KÖWE is a location where the exact daily plan can be checked in advance. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/oeffnungszeiten/?utm_source=openai))

The opening hours also show how strongly the center is focused on practicality. Not every shop follows exactly the same rhythm, and therein lies the advantage for many visitors: Early risers can already find coffee, pastries, or their weekly shopping, while those coming later in the afternoon or evening will still find a wide selection. Those who want to combine their morning shopping with a doctor's appointment, a pickup at the post office, or a quick stop at the pharmacy also benefit from this staggered system. The mix of standard hours and early-opening providers makes KÖWE less dependent on a single shop concept and gives it more the character of a practical supply location. This results in short, planable visits instead of long shopping rounds. For families, commuters, and residents in the south of Regensburg, this is an important plus point because the center can easily be integrated into a normal daily routine. Shops in KÖWE: dm, EDEKA, Books, Fashion, and More

When users search for shops in KÖWE, they usually mean exactly what characterizes this center: a strong mix of everyday shops, practical services, and complementary specialty stores. The EDEKA supermarket offers a wide fresh department, fruits and vegetables, as well as organic, vegetarian, and vegan products. dm complements the center with a large drugstore assortment of around 540 square meters and 12,500 items from cosmetics, health, household, and pet food. Those thinking more in terms of leisure, gifts, or children's needs will find Smyths Toys as a toy store, while the bookstore Bücherwurm has been offering a family-oriented assortment and an ordering service for over 30 years. For fashion and accessories, there are stores like Fussl Modestraße and Karin Mode, along with other brands like Uhrenarena, Action, toom Baumarkt, and McPaper. KÖWE is thus not just a pure fashion or food mall, but a mixed shopping center where very different errands can be bundled under one roof. This is precisely why the search queries for shops, dm, pharmacy, or opening hours are so closely related: Many visitors want to not only find a store but cover their entire needs in one place. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/edeka-lebensmittel-und-getraenkemarkt?utm_source=openai))

The usage levels of the center are also sensibly organized. On the ground floor, you will find EDEKA, dm, Smyths Toys, Bücherwurm, Action, and other highly demanded shops, while additional services, fashion, and specialty offers can be found on the lower and upper floors. This makes orientation relatively easy, as everyday routes do not crisscross through a huge building but follow a clear layout. For visitors, this is an advantage when, for example, they are quickly looking for a gift, then want to pick up groceries, and afterward run an errand at the pharmacy. The strong concentration on useful and well-known brands supports this feeling of clarity. Even specialty shops like Münzkabinett Mrugalla or Uhrenarena contribute to the fact that KÖWE does not live off a single shopping occasion but appeals to multiple target groups. In total, this creates a center that convinces less through spectacular architecture and more through utility. This is exactly what makes many search queries for shops, images, and reviews interesting, as the first impression is shaped by the mix of practical benefits and diverse offerings. Parking and Access to KÖWE Shopping Center

When it comes to parking, KÖWE clearly shows what it focuses on: free parking spaces, short distances, and as little friction as possible upon arrival. According to the official parking page, 1,200 free parking spaces are available. Visitors can use the five-story parking garage by the highway, the underground garage, the upper parking deck, or additional parking spaces around the center. Particularly practical is the short distance from the car to the shop, which the center itself describes as one minute. It is also important that there are no annoying barriers and that KÖWE customers do not incur parking fees. For a shopping center of this type, this is a strong advantage, as many everyday purchases should be completed quickly and not start with complicated parking logic. Some areas are designated as short-term parking zones, such as the upper parking deck and the underground garage with direct access to the basement and ground floor. Additionally, there are parking spaces in the first row in front of individual shops as well as further spaces at the neighboring property Merianweg 4. Those arriving in an electric car will also find a REWAG charging station in the underground garage. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/service/parken))

The access is also clearly described. Coming from Munich, the route leads via the A93 and exit 42 Regensburg-Königswiesen towards Dr.-Gessler-Straße. Coming from Hof, the A93 is also used, then it goes via exit 42 towards Ziegetsdorfer Straße, Kirchmeierstraße, and Dr.-Gessler-Straße. From the city center, the official site recommends a route via Königsstraße, D.-Martin-Luther-Straße, Galgenbergbrücke, Friedenstraße, and Kirchmeierstraße to Dr.-Gessler-Straße. For public transport, KÖWE mentions bus line 10; additionally, direct access has been pointed out since 2007. For visitors, this means: The center is not only a destination for drivers but can also be easily reached without a vehicle. Together with elevators, escalators, and designated disabled parking spaces, this creates a very convenient overall picture. So, if you are looking for access, parking, or a stress-free solution, you will find in KÖWE an infrastructure that is focused on comfort and quick processing. Gastronomy, Döner, and Quick Breaks in KÖWE

The gastronomy in KÖWE Shopping Center is tailored exactly to the character of the center: not over-staged, but practical, versatile, and suitable for everyday life. If you just need a short break, you will find with the ice café Bistro Dolce Momento a place for breakfast, cakes, desserts, ice cream, salads, wraps, and snacks. If you prefer hearty food, you can stop by Elmas Kebap House. There, döner, dürüm, falafel, and burgers are the focus, complemented by fresh flatbread and the option for pre-ordering or takeout. For longer stays or a slightly quieter meal, SON Hotpot offers a concept with fresh ingredients and a large selection of broths. This way, the center covers very different eating habits: from a quick snack to the classic lunch break to a more leisurely family dinner. Precisely for this reason, search queries often look not only for restaurants but also for döner, snack, or culinary diversity in KÖWE. The gastronomy here is not just an addition but a part of the shopping experience that makes errands more pleasant and can extend the stay without complicating it. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/eis-cafe-bistro-dolce-momento?utm_source=openai))

Additionally, the early opening of individual providers helps keep KÖWE flexible for the daily rhythm. The bakery Wünsche opens as early as 7 AM and is therefore excellent for breakfast or a quick start to the day. Ice café Dolce Momento also starts early, and many other providers have opening hours that extend beyond the center's core hours or align with them. This is important for a shopping center because gastronomy is often particularly valuable when it bridges shopping routes: a coffee before the weekly shopping, a snack after the pharmacy, or a quick lunch after the hardware store. The culinary selection in KÖWE is therefore not a coincidence but part of a strategy that positions the location as a convenient everyday place. So, if you are looking for gastronomy, döner, or a quick meal in Regensburg-Königswiesen, you will find not only one solution here but several suitable options in close proximity to each other. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/backstube-wuensche?utm_source=openai))

Doctor, Pharmacy, Services, and On-Site Service

KÖWE is not only a place to shop but also a location for numerous services. That is why terms like doctor, pharmacy, post office, books, vouchers, or restrooms also appear in search queries alongside shops and parking. The center houses the Oasen Pharmacy with opening hours from 8 AM to 8 PM. On the 2nd floor, there is also the MVZ Dr. Boniakowski and colleagues, whose consultation hours are specified from Monday to Friday, as well as on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays. Additional service providers include the adult education center of the city of Regensburg, which operates by appointment and is accessible via various entrances. The service concept is also reflected in the basic functions of the center: there is a center plan, internet or Wi-Fi, an E-charging station, barrier-free paths, offers for children, as well as restrooms and changing rooms. For parents, elderly people, or visitors with more luggage, this is a noticeable advantage, as the stay becomes more relaxed and one does not have to orient themselves for a long time. This makes KÖWE feel like a functional meeting point for everyday errands, not just a shopping place. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/apotheke-oasen-apotheke?utm_source=openai))

The family-friendly orientation is also clearly visible. The official website highlights a children's area, children's programs, and service points for families. In the dm store, for example, there is a changing table with free diapers and care products, as well as a wooden rocking horse. This may seem small, but in everyday life, it is often crucial when shopping with children should be quick and stress-free. Additionally, there is the center's voucher system: there are gift vouchers in various amounts that can be redeemed in the shops. Such functions are not spectacular, but they make the center more usable and explain why the search intentions around the name KÖWE are strongly focused on practical needs. Those looking for a pharmacy, doctor, drugstore, vouchers, or family service in a shopping center usually do not want a long experience world but reliability and clear paths. This is exactly the role KÖWE fulfills with its mix of supply, advice, and short distances between the individual points of contact. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/?utm_source=openai))

History, Photos, Reviews, and Why KÖWE Feels Practical

The history of KÖWE helps to understand why the center is structured the way it is today. According to the official history, the shopping center was opened on May 2, 1991, after 18 months of construction. At that time, there were seven large stores on the approximately 33,000 square meter site, about 25 small shops including gastronomy, office space, and 800 parking spaces. The atrium was remodeled as early as 1996. In 2006, a major redesign began, during which the previously free-standing building parts were connected, and a modern mall was created. After only eight months of construction, the new KÖWE was reopened on November 30, 2006. Since then, around 20,000 square meters have been available for shops, service providers, and gastronomy. The LED facade and later facade modernizations also show that the center has been further developed multiple times rather than remaining in an early state. This development explains why KÖWE, although an established shopping center, still appears modern and clear. Therefore, those looking for photos usually get exactly this impression: a center that focuses not on monumentality but on clear usability. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/das-koewe/geschichte-des-koewe))

For reviews and the general impression, the combination of offerings and accessibility is crucial. KÖWE does not rely on a single highlight but on many small advantages: free parking, direct access to the A93, bus line 10, barrier-free access, a mix of supermarket, drugstore, pharmacy, hardware store, fashion, toys, bookstore, gastronomy, and services. This mix makes the center strong in everyday life. When imagining what visitors typically praise in reviews, one quickly lands on short distances, practical assortment breadth, and the possibility of completing multiple tasks in one visit. This is not a wild claim but a natural conclusion from the official concept of the center and the clearly described service offerings. KÖWE is therefore particularly interesting for people who do not need a large shopping mile but a reliable place for routine, supply, and quick errands. Comparing the center with photos, opening hours, and shops reveals: Here, compactness becomes an advantage. The visit does not feel like an effort but like efficient shopping with enough comfort for a relaxed process. ([koewe.de](https://www.koewe.de/service/parken))

Has a variety of shops. Not as big as the other shopping centre in Regensburg. But it completely satisfies our needs. There is the children's toy store (Smithys) which was previously Toys'R'Us. Edeka is also present which is really big enough and has a variety of products and a wide range to choose from. Other clothing and shoe stores are also there. Decent eateries are inside the shopping centre.

I also love this shopping centre. Some products are cheap, some are expensive, but all are worth the price. I only have to walk from home to come here. So, it’s like exercise at the same time. 😅
