Culture & Congress Center Kolpinghaus Regensburg | Events

The Culture & Congress Center Kolpinghaus Regensburg is located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the city, between the Danube and the historic old town. As a versatile event location, the house combines a long tradition with modern event practices: conferences and seminars during the day, concerts, theater, or celebrations in the evening, along with an accessible range of rooms, restaurant and catering services, and a location that is equally attractive for guests from Regensburg and beyond. Officially, ten event rooms are mentioned for 10 to 1,000 people, making the house interesting for both compact meetings and large formats. Those looking for a central address for business events, cultural evenings, or private occasions will find a venue with a clear identity and remarkable proximity to the train station, parking garages, and attractions. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/?utm_source=openai))

Events, Program, and Tickets

The event world of Kolpinghaus Regensburg is deliberately broad. The official site lists congresses, conferences, meetings, seminars, corporate meetings, and product presentations as well as concerts, plays, and film presentations. Additionally, weddings, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, Christmas parties, and exhibitions are included. This means the house is not limited to a single occasion but covers the entire spectrum between business, culture, and private moments. This versatility explains why search interest often simultaneously targets programs, tickets, and specific event dates: those researching here usually want to know not only what is happening but also when an event starts, what the entry conditions are, and how to obtain tickets. Details such as date, time, entry, and ticketing are specified separately on the individual event pages of the house. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/?utm_source=openai))

From an SEO perspective, it is important that Kolpinghaus Regensburg is not a rigid venue with a single seasonal concept but a place with a continuously changing program. The official calendar shows that there are very different formats: lectures, readings, ballet, film tours, charity evenings, music formats, and gastronomic themed events. Even if a visitor is looking for a general program, the right answer is often the event calendar itself, supplemented by the pages of the respective events. This way, the information needs regarding programs, tickets, and events can be neatly connected without promising something that the respective date does not hold. This is particularly important for users who decide spontaneously whether to spend an evening in the banquet hall, in the restaurant, or in one of the smaller rooms. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/?utm_source=openai))

Directions and Parking in the Regensburg Old Town

The location is one of the strongest advantages of the house. Kolpinghaus is situated in the heart of the city, between the Danube and the historic old town, making it one of the densest and most attractive locations in Regensburg. At the same time, it is practically accessible for travelers: the train station is only about a ten-minute walk away according to the official directions page and can be reached by bus in a few minutes. The nearest stops are Dachauplatz and the Museum of Bavarian History; from there, buses run to the train station every five minutes according to the house. For conference and cultural guests, this means short distances, less logistical stress, and an arrival that is uncomplicated even without a car. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/lage-anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

For those coming by car, there are several clear options. The parking garage at Dachauplatz is approximately 300 meters away and has 720 parking spaces according to official information. Additionally, the house mentions the free parking lot at Altes Eisstadion/Unterer Wöhrd, which is about a ten-minute walk away. This allows the question of parking to be answered not only generally but also specifically and user-friendly. For larger events, this mix of central location, proximity to parking garages, and good public transport connections is particularly valuable, as guests from both the city center and outside can quickly find a suitable way. It is also practical for planning that the house refers to a driving map as a PDF. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/lage-anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

Rooms, Floor Plan, and Capacities

In terms of rooms, Kolpinghaus Regensburg scores with an unusually wide selection. The official site points out that all rooms are accessible. Among others, the banquet hall on the second floor, the Kolpingsaal on the first floor, the large Erhard room on the ground floor, the Kolping room, the Burschen room, as well as the rooms Altstadtblick 1, Altstadtblick 2, and the conference room Domblick are named. For users, the variability is especially important: depending on the occasion, the rooms are suitable for small meetings, medium-sized celebrations, or large formats. The banquet hall offers 370 square meters of space plus stage, gallery, and foyers; the Kolpingsaal has 189 square meters plus foyer, and the smaller rooms are designed to allow for focused meetings as well as private celebrations in a smaller circle. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/raeumlichkeiten/?utm_source=openai))

Particularly strong is the topic of seating plan and capacity. The house lists ten different event rooms with a capacity of 10 to 1,000 people on the event page. At the same time, the room data shows how differentiated the seating is depending on the format: the banquet hall is designed for up to 500 people in cinema seating and up to 632 people in banquet seating; the Kolpingsaal accommodates up to 240 people in cinema seating and up to 200 people in banquet seating. The smaller rooms range from the conference room Domblick with compact conference sizes to Altstadtblick 1 and 2, which are also suitable for medium-sized groups. Therefore, it is important to explain for inquiries regarding seating plans that there is no single universal seating plan, but rather different setups depending on the room and seating type. Those planning a specific event should therefore keep in mind not only the number of seats but also the type of seating, stage, foyers, and desired room combination. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/?utm_source=openai))

Conferences, Seminars, and Technical Equipment

As a conference venue, Kolpinghaus Regensburg is clearly designed for professional processes. According to the official conference page, the team brings over 30 years of experience in the congress and conference sector and supports events from small meetings with 10 people to multi-day congresses with up to 1,000 participants. The ten conference rooms are spread over approximately 1,000 square meters, allowing both focused workshop formats and large professional events to be implemented flexibly. This is particularly relevant for companies, associations, and organizations because not only the size fits, but also the internal organization is geared towards efficiency, planning, and reliable support. The site explicitly emphasizes individual consulting and a tailored concept for each event. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/tagungen-und-seminare/?utm_source=openai))

The technical equipment includes projectors and screens in all conference rooms; the halls also have a sound system for voice transmission. Additionally, conference materials such as flip charts, pin boards, or presenters can be provided. The house remains flexible in implementation, as it collaborates with partners and technical service providers when needed. Catering is also taken care of: the restaurant St. Erhard provides conferences with break refreshments, lunch, buffets, or standing snacks, allowing the content flow and culinary breaks to be seamlessly connected. This combination of rooms, technology, and catering makes the house so attractive for seminars, training sessions, lectures, and corporate meetings. For users looking for conferences or seminars, Kolpinghaus is therefore more than just an address on a map: it is a completely organizable event system. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/tagungen-und-seminare/?utm_source=openai))

History, Kolping Tradition, and Special Atmosphere

The history of Kolpinghaus is an essential part of its brand identity. The Catholic Journeymen's Association was founded in Regensburg as early as 1852; on November 20, 1853, the first Regensburg Kolpinghaus was inaugurated. In the following decades, the complex grew through the acquisition and renovation of adjacent buildings and developed into the Catholic Association House St. Erhard. At that time, there were already 50 beds, a large banquet hall, and the so-called Dollingersaal, which was rebuilt stone by stone from a patrician house that was released for demolition. Additionally, there is the Erhardi Crypt from the 10th century, which is among the oldest sacred spaces in the city and was returned to its liturgical purpose in 1892. This mixture of social idea, Christian tradition, and architectural layering gives the house a profile that modern event locations often lack. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/geschichte/?utm_source=openai))

The current form is also the result of destruction and reconstruction. On October 20, 1944, the Erhardihaus was almost completely destroyed in an air raid; reconstruction began immediately after the war and was completed on December 3, 1950. Subsequently, the building was continuously expanded, remodeled, and modernized. The official history emphasizes that Kolpinghaus Regensburg continues to provide a home for young people away from home and thus has not lost its social mission. This is precisely where the special atmosphere for visitors lies: one does not enter an interchangeable event block but a house that has grown historically, has a social core, and still meets all the requirements of a contemporary culture and congress location. This connection between tradition and function is a strong argument for the location, especially when one wants to connect content with a credible, warm, and yet professional environment. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/geschichte/?utm_source=openai))

Restaurant St. Erhard, Celebrations, and Weddings

Culinarily, Kolpinghaus Regensburg is also more than just a pure event address. In the restaurant St. Erhard, there are Bavarian and international dishes made from fresh regional products, seasonal menus, themed menus, and buffets. In summer, the sun terrace invites relaxation, and homemade cakes and ice variations are also offered. For celebrations in a smaller circle, the adjoining room on the ground floor is interesting because it allows birthdays and other occasions to be held separately from the regular restaurant operation. This culinary breadth is important for inquiries regarding catering, celebrations, birthdays, or restaurants because the house not only rents out rooms but also creates a contentually suitable culinary environment. The official opening hours also show that the restaurant is regularly open for guests and events can also be held outside regular hours by arrangement. ([kolpinghaus-regensburg.de](https://kolpinghaus-regensburg.de/restaurant-st-erhard/?utm_source=openai))

For weddings, Kolpinghaus is particularly flexibly positioned. The official wedding page describes the house as an ideal place for ceremonies and celebrations, from intimate gatherings to large weddings with hundreds of guests. Individual menus, canapés, buffets, and multi-course dinners are mentioned as well as support from long-standing partners for floral decorations or wedding cakes. This is complemented by practical proximity to the old town, the cathedral, and the boat landing stage, allowing celebrations, photo motifs, and city flair to be well connected. The location at Kolpingbrunnen, close to the Danube and the historic center, also plays a role for travel groups or closed societies. So, for those looking for not just a room but a coherent overall package, they receive gastronomy, support, and spatial diversity from a single source. I’m still buzzing from the excellent food, the incredibly friendly, authentic, and super pleasant service, and the outstanding meal. That day they had spare ribs, and I can’t remember ever having such delicious spare ribs before. I will definitely be back there as a guest very soon.

The Kolpinghaus in Regensburg has been a restaurant we like to visit for many years when we’re in the city. The service is attentive and very friendly. The food is very good and the prices are moderate. Such a good price-performance ratio is no longer a given in Regensburg. Therefore, we can highly recommend the Kolpinghaus. And it’s just a stone's throw from the House of Bavarian History.

We were at the Kolpinghaus over the weekend. On Saturday we rented a room for a joint rehearsal, and on Sunday morning we held a concert in the Kolpingsaal. Everything went super smoothly, just as agreed, and all our last-minute additional requests were fulfilled. We’d love to do it again when we’re back in Regensburg for a concert.

We went for the All You Can Eat spare ribs at the Kolpinghaus Regensburg, and it was simply fantastic! The ribs were very tasty, juicy, and plentiful. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, which made our visit even nicer. The ambiance is great and very inviting, so we felt completely comfortable. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be happy to come back!
