marinaforum Regensburg | Parking & Program

In the Marina Quarter of Regensburg, the marinaforum combines historical substance with modern event technology to create a versatile venue for conferences, trade fairs, concerts, corporate events, and culture. The centerpiece is the listed hall with its characteristic Zollinger ceiling – an architectural highlight that creates a special atmosphere. In addition to the Large Forum for up to 750 people, there is a Small Forum and several flexibly combinable workshop rooms available. The building is designed to be barrier-free, centrally accessible, and sustainably operated – including energy-efficient climate and lighting technology. Thanks to its location in the eastern part of the city, not far from the old town and the main train station, arrival by train, bus, bicycle, or car is comfortable. Parking is available at nearby parking garages such as the Marina Quarter parking garage. For organizers, in addition to a powerful IT infrastructure, there are also delivery zones, ample foyer space, and a regionally anchored catering network. This mix of history, technology, service, and location makes the marinaforum a strong choice for events of any size.

Parking and Arrival at marinaforum Regensburg

For driving, the marinaforum is excellently integrated into the regional traffic network: Short routes lead from the A3 and A93 motorways as well as federal roads from all directions to the Marina Quarter. An important note for navigation systems: Since the event venue itself has no parking spaces, it is recommended to use the Marina Quarter parking garage at Von-Donle-Straße 5 for parking. The parking garage is open 24 hours, and the clearance height is 1.80 meters – important for vans, minibuses, or vehicles with roof racks. The rates are predictable for event visitors: €0.80 per 30 minutes, the day ticket costs €8.00. Those arriving in the evening benefit from the event ticket for €5.00 valid from 18:30 to 23:00. This allows attendees to enjoy concerts or accompanying programs without time pressure. Additionally, there are four public e-mobility charging stations located directly behind the building, allowing visitors with electric vehicles to arrive comfortably. For pick-ups or short drop-offs before the event, it is advisable to briefly drive to the area around the main entrance and continue on foot to avoid disrupting traffic flow.

Those traveling by public transport can easily reach the venue via several RVV lines. The nearest stop is Prinz-Ludwig-Straße (Line 10) with about 350 meters of walking distance. An additional option is the Weissenburgstraße stop, served by various lines such as 1, 5, 14, 15, 28, 34, 41, and 77; the walking distance from there is about 900 meters. From Regensburg main station, where ICE, IC, and regional trains stop, there are regular bus connections to both stops. Those traveling from surrounding regions can thus combine train and bus and avoid searching for parking – a plus, especially for well-attended events. Bicycle parking is available in the quarter; the paths are flat and lead along well-developed roads. Guests arriving by coach should coordinate delivery and stopping areas in advance with the organizing team to efficiently plan arrival times and routes. These arrival and parking options make the marinaforum easily accessible from all directions while ensuring reliable planning – whether for all-day conferences, evening events, or weekend trade fairs.

Events, Program, and Tickets

The program at the marinaforum is a mix of public cultural formats and closed business events. Under “All Public Events,” visitors can find the current dates with details on times, halls, entry, and ticket information. The spectrum ranges from cabaret evenings and concerts to readings, trade fairs, conferences, and exhibitions. Sample events currently listed in the calendar give an impression of the range: the “Excellence Weekend” on January 24 and 25, 2026, as a marketing event for freelancers and medium-sized executives, the comedy evening “Osan Yaran – By Principle!” on April 25, 2026, and the vocal ensemble “Scala & Kolacny Brothers – Scala 30” on February 25, 2027. Culture fans benefit from the acoustically strong hall geometry and the variable stage; depending on the format, row, table, or mixed seating is implemented. For exhibitors and professionals, the foyer and gallery areas provide space for booths, networking, and catering areas, allowing even larger trade fairs to be organized clearly and efficiently.

Tickets for public events are offered depending on the event through the pre-sale channels linked on the program page and at the box office. For event planning, it is helpful that the website provides not only date details but also information on arrival, barrier-free access, and any bag or entry regulations. Those wishing to combine their visit with a city stroll can take advantage of the walkable location to the Regensburg old town: Restaurants, bars, and sights are within reach. Tailored for family-friendliness, business networking, and cultural enjoyment alike, the program offers variety across calendar weeks; especially on weekends, trade fairs and special interest formats enliven the venue, while during the week, conferences, meetings, and professional events dominate. Those planning long-term can regularly check the calendar, as dates are continuously added. This way, personal highlights can be marked in time – whether concert, cabaret, or specialist conference.

Capacities, Rooms, and Technology – the Flexible “Seating Plan” in Practice

The room landscape of the marinaforum is designed for flexibility and replaces the classic, rigid seating plan with modular seating and area variants. The Large Forum on the ground floor covers 608 m²; in row seating, up to 750 people are possible here. Thanks to separable segments and the additional gallery with rising podium, the space can be scaled to the desired number of participants without losing atmosphere or sightlines. In other setups – such as parliamentary, banquet, or mixed forms – coordinated capacities are available, making the Large Forum equally suitable for conferences, award ceremonies, concerts, or gala dinners. The Small Forum with 142 to 164 m² offers up to 170 seats in a row and can be expanded with adjacent rooms; ideal for breakout sessions, middle-stage formats, or standalone evening programs. Additionally, there are eleven workshop rooms on two levels that can be used individually or combined (e.g., 23/34/234 and 78/89/789). This creates additional row, U-shape, or banquet areas depending on need – from focused seminars to accompanying trade exhibitions.

Technically, the venue is designed to meet contemporary requirements. The centerpiece of the digital infrastructure is a 10 Gbit backbone in the LAN and a correspondingly powerful internet connection, which also provides reserves for hybrid events and live-stream setups. WLAN hotspots are available throughout the house free of charge; upon request, closed networks are provided for organizers. The stage and media technology is configured specifically for each project, from sound and lighting systems to projection solutions and interpreting technology. For logistics and setup/breakdown, there is a drive-in hall, two coordinated delivery zones, and elevators with high load capacities (including up to 1,150 kg in one of the elevators), allowing materials to be transported safely and efficiently to the levels. Foyer areas on the ground and upper floors create space for registration, cloakroom, sponsor areas, and catering. Since a fixed seating plan in terms of numbered rows is not predetermined, each event is implemented with a tailored seating plan – including sightlines, escape routes, and technical coordination. Those needing detailed planning can find capacity tables and options on the room subpages; the project management team advises on the selection of room combinations.

History and Architecture: the Zollinger Hall in the Marina Quarter

The marinaforum is located in a historic part of the former Regensburg slaughterhouse, whose area has been gradually decommissioned since the 1990s and later developed into the Marina Quarter. The hall itself is named after the characteristic Zollinger ceiling – a slatted wooden construction that goes back to the architect Friedrich Zollinger (1880–1945) and has been valued since the 1920s for its material efficiency and large spans. In Regensburg, this structure was painstakingly restored and uncovered in the 2010s, so that the aesthetic underside today shapes the atmosphere of the Large Forum. The urban planning concept of the quarter envisions a mix of living, working, and leisure; the central building block is the event center, which enlivens the historical substance with a new use. The official opening of the marinaforum took place in 2018 – since then, the venue has connected the industrial monument with a contemporary conference and cultural profile. The preservation measures respected the original structures while updating technical building equipment, fire protection, and accessibility to the latest standards.

From a sustainability perspective, the preservation and repurposing of the Zollinger Hall is also relevant: Continuing to build on existing structures saves resources, preserves building culture, and creates identity. The visible slatted construction also provides excellent conditions for acoustics and spatial effect – especially for cultural formats that benefit from warmth and directness. The interplay of historical shell and modern infrastructure makes the hall unique in Bavaria and contributes to the self-image of the World Heritage City of Regensburg, where tradition and innovation are closely linked. For visitors, this history is already palpable upon entering: The generous ceiling, the gallery, and the interplay of daylight and stage light convey a special spatial feeling without compromising the comfort of a modern event center.

Address, Location, Hotels, and Surroundings

The marinaforum is located at Johanna-Dachs-Straße 46, 93055 Regensburg, in the eastern part of the city between the old town and the west harbor. The location in the Marina Quarter means short distances: The historic old town with its UNESCO World Heritage buildings is within walking distance, making it easy to combine event visits with city walks or dinners in the city center. Thanks to its proximity to the main train station and connections to central bus lines, arrival without a car is comfortable. Those arriving by car should head to the Marina Quarter parking garage at Von-Donle-Straße 5 for parking; there are continuously available parking spaces, and an evening event ticket is offered at a discounted rate. For guests with electric cars, public charging points are located directly behind the building, which can be used with common charging cards and ad-hoc payments.

For overnight stays, the offer in Regensburg ranges from business hotels to family-run establishments to private accommodations. On the visitor side of the marinaforum, there are tips for finding accommodation with options from hotels to guesthouses – particularly helpful for congress guests and exhibitors staying several nights. Those traveling with light luggage can often manage the paths between the train station, hotel, and marinaforum on foot or with a short bus ride. For groups, early reservation of contingents is recommended; large events in the city – such as festivals, trade congresses, or trade fair dates – can significantly influence availability. It is also advisable to plan the opening hours of the old town facilities to round off the stay with cultural or gastronomic experiences. Through the combination of a central location, diverse overnight options, and good accessibility, the marinaforum is equally attractive as an event location for regional and national guest flows.

Catering, Service, and Sustainability

For the gastronomic accompaniment of events, the marinaforum provides a proven network of local catering partners. They offer – depending on the occasion – buffets, set menus, finger food, or beverage services and can also assist with personnel planning if desired. The venue has a fully equipped catering kitchen with large appliances, separate glass and dishwashers, and sufficient cooling options. A large bar with buffet elements and several professional coffee machines (including fully automatic and portafilter machines) are part of the equipment; dishes, glasses, and cutlery are centrally rented from Regensburg Tourismus GmbH for a uniform appearance. The beverage selection is also sourced through the RTG, structuring purchasing, logistics, and billing clearly. For smaller formats, compact in-house catering can be organized upon agreement – practical for workshops, press talks, or short evening formats.

A special profile feature of the location is the Green Meetings concept. The venue has been oriented towards resource conservation and energy efficiency from the beginning: Heating and cooling are done via groundwater heat pumps, lighting relies on LED, and energy monitoring supports economical operation. The historical building use (instead of complete new construction) further reduces resource consumption; the clearly visible Zollinger ceiling exemplifies this philosophy. The Regensburg destination supports this commitment with instruments such as the Green Score Card, which organizers can create together with the marinaforum team in a short time to make CO₂-relevant aspects transparent. Mobility is also anchored in the sustainability mix: Short distances, walkable old town, bicycle parking spaces, good public transport connections, and e-charging stations facilitate climate-friendly arrival. For organizers wishing to explore funding options, programs such as the Congress Initiative Bavaria, which supports conference projects under certain conditions since July 2024, are worth checking out.

Organizationally, the venue is designed for efficient processes. Deliveries occur through two coordinated zones; a drive-in floor and large elevators with high load capacities accelerate setup and breakdown. The project management team advises on setup, processes, safety, and fire protection concepts and establishes connections to technical service providers or regional partners if needed. With this service and sustainability profile, the marinaforum creates a reliable foundation for economic, hospitable, and resource-saving events – from the first idea to the last departure.

Great event location with a professional atmosphere, also well-suited for general meetings. Public transport access is fine 🚉, but parking is a bit tricky due to the residential area 🚗. However, the service and catering are top-notch – friendly, quick, and high quality! 🍽️👏 A successful venue!

I was here for two days for an event from the driving instructor association. Top-notch location. There's a nearby parking garage, but parking is unfortunately difficult for someone with tall vehicles. Everything was super clean. I can only recommend it!
