Parking Westbad Regensburg | Parking & Access
The parking lot Westbad in Regensburg is primarily one thing: a practical, easily accessible starting point for the Stadtwerk.Westbad, the Danube Park, and the green areas in the western part of the city. Those who park here are in close proximity to one of the most well-known recreational spots in Regensburg and benefit from a location that is sensible for bathers, walkers, families, sauna visitors, and anyone traveling in the west of Regensburg. Officially, the Westbad is located at Messerschmittstraße 4 in 93049 Regensburg. The facility offers 430 parking spaces, some shaded by trees, directly at the bath; additionally, on weekends, the opposite Siemens parking spaces are available. For e-mobility, there are three charging stations for two e-vehicles each. The uniqueness of this place lies not only in the number of parking spaces but in the mix of proximity, orientation, and recreational value. The Westbad itself is a traditional part of the Regensburg bathing offerings: it opened in 1972, was later remodeled and expanded, and is now used as a sports, leisure, and wellness pool. The parking lot is therefore not just a side aspect but an important part of the visitor experience. Those who can park well arrive more relaxed, find their way to the bath or park more quickly, and can plan their stay in the west of Regensburg more calmly from the start. Parking at Westbad Regensburg: Parking Spaces, Shade, and Access
When it comes to parking at Westbad Regensburg, the size of the facility stands out first. 430 parking spaces directly at the bath are a strong argument for a recreational location of this kind, as they significantly simplify the arrival process. Particularly useful is that part of the areas are shaded by trees. This is not only pleasant for drivers in summer but also for the condition of the vehicle and the walk from the car to the entrance. Especially during high occupancy or on warm days, shade is a real added value, as the short walk between the parking space and the destination feels much more pleasant. The official site also mentions two clearly distinguishable areas: Parking North, directly next to the entrance, and the smaller Parking South. Those who prefer a short distance usually orient themselves towards the front zone; those who value a slightly cooler parking spot in summer pay attention to the shadier areas. The fact that the opposite Siemens parking spaces can also be used on weekends further expands the options, especially when the bath, sauna, or Danube Park are well attended. This structure is important for visitors because they do not have to search for a long time but have the choice between proximity, additional space, and charging options. This is also an advantage for families with children, older guests, or people with luggage. The parking lot is therefore not only functional but also thoughtfully designed as part of the entire Westbad location. The provided reviews repeatedly highlight this size positively: Many free spaces, good visibility, and more shade in the back area are explicitly praised. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/westbad/kontakt-anfahrt))
Those who visit the Westbad regularly quickly notice that a parking space is not only evaluated based on pure capacity. Decisive are also the layout, the visibility of the entrance, and the question of how comfortably one can park the car in everyday life or during a leisure visit. This is where the location shows its strength. The facility is located directly at the Westbad, so no complicated parking garage logic or long walking distance is necessary. This makes it attractive for short visits as well as for longer stays in the bath, sauna, or courses. The connection to the trees is more than just an aesthetic detail: it shapes the entire parking experience and distinguishes the location from many purely functional large areas. Those traveling with children benefit from the short distance to the entrance. Those who are tired after swimming appreciate the most direct route back to the car. And those who get in after a long bike ride or a walk through the Danube Park in summer are happy about a parking space that is not completely heated up. Such details make the difference in everyday life between an average and a truly user-friendly parking lot. Therefore, despite its simple structure, the parking lot Westbad Regensburg is a very relevant part of the entire recreational offering. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/westbad/kontakt-anfahrt))
Access to the Parking Lot Westbad: Car, Bus, and Location in Regensburg West
The access to the parking lot Westbad is clearly described and can be easily planned by many visitors. Those coming by car from Munich, Nuremberg, or Passau should follow the official Westbad site at the Regensburg highway interchange towards Weiden on the A93 and then take the exit West. From Berlin or Weiden, one also stays on the A93 until the exit West. This routing is an important SEO and practical factor because it shows that the Westbad is well integrated into the traffic network of western Regensburg. For guests from the city area, public transport is also relevant: Bus lines 6 and 11 bring visitors to the Westbad and back to the center. Line 11 goes directly to the bath, while line 6 stops at the nearby Wernerwerkstraße station. From the main train station Regensburg, the bus stop Albertstraße with the appropriate connections is only about 100 meters away. This combination of highway access, urban bus connection, and short distance from public transport makes the location versatile to reach. This is particularly interesting for users who are looking for a parking space but do not necessarily arrive by their own car. Because the location of the parking lot is more than just an address: it is located in Regensburg-West, not far from the Danube Park and the Westbadweiher. Thus, the location combines recreation, nature, and mobility in a compact space. For those searching for Westbad Parking Map, Westbad Regensburg Access, or Parking Westbad Regensburg, this clear location description is valuable because it directly shows how to reach the place reliably. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/westbad/kontakt-anfahrt))
The location in Regensburg West is also a real location advantage. The district Westenviertel is not only densely populated but also characterized by recreational areas, Danube banks, and leisure spots. The city of Regensburg describes the Danube Park as the largest park in the entire city area with 60 hectares. Directly in this environment is the Westbad on the southern side of the former gravel pit, which is now often referred to as Westbadweiher. Historically, the area originated from a gravel extraction area and from landscaping after the construction of the Westbad. For visitors, this means: The parking lot Westbad is not in an anonymous peripheral location but right in the middle of a developed recreational and local recreation area. Those who park here can combine their visit to the bath with walks, jogging rounds, or a detour to the Danube. For this reason, the location often appears in search queries in connection with parking, access, photos, and maps. People not only want to know where they are standing but also what to expect around the parking lot. The answer is clear: an urban, yet green western location with a bath, park, water, and good transport connections. This mix makes the parking lot Westbad Regensburg as relevant for locals as it is for guests from outside. ([regensburg.de](https://www.regensburg.de/regensburg-507/sehenswert/donaupark))
Costs, E-Charging Stations, and Additional Parking Areas at Westbad
Regarding costs, the official communication of the Westbad is remarkably clear and somewhat two-tiered. The contact and access page states 430 parking spaces directly at the bath. A Westbad flyer additionally explicitly states 430 free parking spaces directly at the Stadtwerk.Westbad. For practice, this means: The topic of free parking is part of the official self-understanding of the location. At the same time, it is advisable to pay attention to the current signage and local indications when arriving, as parking rules, event operations, or seasonal processes may change in detail. For search queries such as Westbad Regensburg Costs or Westbad Parking Free, this official location is particularly important, as it answers the core question directly: Parking at Westbad is planned as a visitor offer and is not organized like a classic downtown parking garage. Additionally, there are three charging stations for two e-vehicles each. Two of them are located in Parking North directly next to the entrance, and one on the smaller Parking South. This shows that the Westbad is also geared towards electromobility. Those arriving with an e-car can combine their charging needs with their visit and do not have to search for infrastructure in the surroundings. Especially during longer stays in the bath or sauna, this is a noticeable comfort advantage. Furthermore, the Siemens parking spaces across the street are available as additional space on weekends. This expansion is particularly relevant during high visitor traffic, such as during particularly sunny weather, events, course operations, or when multiple leisure uses coincide. The location thus remains flexible without losing its basic structure. For users, this means: There is a clear combination of cost-oriented parking, charging infrastructure, and additional overflow space. This is a real plus in the west of Regensburg and makes the parking lot Westbad a very practical point of contact for many different visit occasions. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/fileadmin/Baeder/Westbad/Downloads/Stadtwerk_Westbad_Schwimmkursflyer_01_2022_WEB.pdf))
The combination of free or designated free parking spaces and e-charging points also shows how modern the location is conceived. Not every parking lot is just a parking spot; some areas are part of a larger mobility concept. At Westbad, this is particularly evident because the parking area does not exist in isolation but is directly integrated into a recreational landscape. Those who park their car can reach the bath, sauna, course offerings, or the park without complicated routes. This is not only convenient but also time-saving. Especially for families with children, athletes, or older people, the shortest possible transition from the car to the destination is important. Therefore, many people specifically search for terms like Westbad Parking Free, Westbad E-Charging Station, or Parking Westbad Costs. Such search queries reflect real needs: One wants to know if there are free spaces, how to park the car, and whether additional services are available. This is where the location convinces with clear information instead of vague promises. The official contact page specifies the extent, location of the charging points, and additional areas; the flyer emphasizes the free nature of the offer. From an SEO perspective, this is ideal because the most important keywords are not only searched but also covered by real, verifiable facts. For users, this primarily means: less uncertainty before arrival and a significantly more relaxed arrival. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/westbad/kontakt-anfahrt))
Reviews of the Parking Lot Westbad: What Visitors Appreciate About Location and Orientation
The provided reviews of the parking lot Westbad paint a picture that fits well with the official location data. Several users praise the large number of free spaces, the good size of the facility, and the shady areas under trees. A recurring practical tip is that the back area is particularly worthwhile on hot days because there is more shade available there. At the same time, it is mentioned that the front area offers the shorter path to the entrance. This tension field is interesting for visitors: Those seeking maximum proximity tend to choose the front part, while those who pay attention to temperature and comfort in summer tend to orient themselves further back. The feedback also mentions a point that should be taken seriously, even if it is not attributable to the parking lot itself: Some users do not adhere to traffic rules and occasionally drive in the wrong direction on the one-way street. This speaks less against the location than for the necessity of clear signage and attentive driving. For visitors, this results in a very simple practical tip: When entering, remain calm and attentive, observe the one-way direction, and not just look for the next available space. The Westbad is a heavily frequented recreational spot; where many people arrive in a small space, clear orientation is needed. The reviews also show that the parking lot is perceived by many as a useful, generous, and pleasantly shady offer in summer. For a location that serves both bathers and walkers as well as park visitors, this is a good signal. Because a parking lot is often truly appreciated only when it does exactly what it is supposed to do: function stress-free. This seems to often be the case here according to the available reviews. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/westbad/kontakt-anfahrt))
The reviews also help to understand the location not only technically but from the user's perspective. A large parking lot can look good on paper and still seem impractical if entrance, layout, or shade are lacking. However, at Westbad, the interplay of space, nature, and short distance is perceived positively. The fact that the path to the entrance is shorter in the front area makes the space attractive for those who want to get to the bath quickly. The fact that there is more shade in the back area is a real advantage for summer visits. These two perspectives are important because they cater to different visitor profiles. One person wants to get into the water without detours, while the other wants to park the vehicle as comfortably as possible. The parking lot Westbad Regensburg can accommodate both. For the search intention for Westbad Parking Reviews, this is particularly relevant: Not only the pure star rating but the concrete experiences show why the place works in everyday life. It is about convenient arrival, good availability of spaces, shade, proximity, and a minimum level of traffic discipline. Those who know these points can plan their visit better. Especially since the place is not located in the middle of a tight city center but at a recreational location with a lot of movement, it is worthwhile to incorporate the experiences of other users into one's own planning. This way, a simple search for parking becomes a significantly more relaxed start to the visit at Westbad.
Photos and Map of the Westbad: Danube Park, Westbadweiher, and Surroundings
Those searching for photos or a map of the parking lot Westbad are often looking for orientation. They want to see how the place is structured, where the access is, how the parking lot is embedded in the surroundings, and what landmarks are nearby. This is where the location of the Westbad is particularly helpful. The official Westbad site embeds a Google Maps map, which simplifies digital orientation. Additionally, the city of Regensburg provides valuable image and context information about the Danube Park, which is the largest park in the city area with 60 hectares. The Westbad is located on its southern edge in a recreational landscape that has emerged from the former gravel pit and gravel extraction area. The city describes how the environment was landscaped after the construction of the Westbad and how a gentle hilly landscape emerged from the massive excavation masses. This history is important for the perception of the location because it explains why the surroundings appear so open, green, and water-related. For photo motifs, this means: parking lot, bath, water, trees, and park together create a very typical Regensburg-West image. When arriving there, one sees not only asphalt but a place where recreation, nature, and infrastructure intertwine. This is why the map is so important for many seekers. They want not only to find the parking lot but also to understand where the Westbad is in relation to the Danube Park, the Westbadweiher, and the adjacent streets. The official access graphic from the Westbad flyer shows the location in Regensburg West with streets such as Messerschmittstraße, Clermont-Ferrand-Allee, Weinweg, Hermann-Köhl-Straße, Hochweg, Lilienthalstraße, and Prüfeninger Straße. This makes it clear that the location is well integrated into the western traffic network. Those searching for photos can mentally capture this environment even before arrival: a clear recreational location with plenty of greenery, quiet water surfaces, and a large, functional parking area. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/westbad/kontakt-anfahrt))
The surroundings also explain why the parking lot Westbad in Regensburg is relevant not only for bathers. The Danube Park is a popular local recreation area, and the city describes it as a place for joggers, cyclists, walkers, families, and people who simply want to be outdoors. The Westbad fits perfectly into this usage. So those searching for Westbad Parking Map or Westbad Photos are often not just looking for the car parking space but an entry point into a recreational quarter. This is also important for SEO logic, as the search intention is often hybrid: one wants to park, orient themselves, and perhaps plan the next step, such as a bath visit, a walk, or a round by the water. The parking lot Westbad fulfills this function particularly well because it is located directly at one of the most important recreational spots in the west. The connection of parking lot, bath, park, and water is also a strong visual argument. It shapes the image of the location and explains why the place often appears in search results together with terms like photos, map, parking lot, access, and Danube Park. Those who know the place understand: This is not about an anonymous area on the outskirts of the city but about a well-embedded infrastructure in a lively district. This combination makes the location lastingly relevant and interesting for returning visitors as well as for first-time users. Westbad as a Destination: Bath, Sauna, Sports Pool, and Leisure in Regensburg
The parking lot Westbad is ultimately so sought after because it serves an attractive destination. The Westbad is not just a simple indoor pool but a sports and leisure pool with sauna, outdoor areas, and course offerings. According to official information, the location offers eight bathing options or pool areas, four of which are under the dome roof and three additional pools during the outdoor swimming season. Historically, it all began in 1972 with a sports pool in the western part of Regensburg, a large outdoor swimming area, and a 50-meter pool under a tent roof. Later, the development moved towards an experience and wellness orientation; in 2006, the large sauna facility was opened, and in 2017, a teaching swimming pool was added. This is important for the parking lot because the attractiveness of the destination directly affects the search for parking. Where many different uses come together, the importance of reliable access and sufficiently large parking space increases. The Westbad attracts not only swimmers but also families, those seeking relaxation, and people who visit the sauna or courses. Therefore, those parking here often do not need a downtown logic but a robust, generous, easily understandable parking lot with a short path to the entrance. Exactly that is offered by the location. For visitors, this means: The parking lot Westbad is part of a larger recreational promise. One does not come just to park the car but to experience a whole day at the bath, a sauna session, or a stay in nature. The history of the place also shows that the Westbad has been a defining recreational point in Regensburg-West for decades. The parking lot practically reflects this role by making access easy and supporting the visit from the very first moment. ([das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de](https://www.das-stadtwerk-regensburg.de/presse/detail/jubilaeum-am-03-juni-2022-das-stadtwerkwestbad-feiert-50-geburtstag))
Current uses also show that the location remains vibrant. The Westbad is open daily; early swimmers can enter the sports pool on weekdays as early as 07:00 AM, and the sauna is regularly maintained and further developed. There are ongoing programs, courses, and events that make the place relevant beyond the classic bath visit. This also keeps the parking lot a constantly sought-after point. Those who come early need a good solution for the car. Those who go on weekends with the family benefit from additional spaces. Those arriving with an e-car appreciate the charging points. And those who use the Westbad only as a starting point for a walk through the Danube Park primarily need orientation and clarity. All these needs come together at the location. Therefore, keywords like Westbad Regensburg Parking, Parking Westbad Costs, Westbad Parking Map, or Westbad Parking Reviews are more than just search terms. They describe real questions that visitors have on-site. The answer of the location is surprisingly simple and therefore convincing: plenty of space, good location, additional areas on weekends, charging options, and direct integration into the west of Regensburg. This mix makes the parking lot Westbad Regensburg a reliable part of the regional recreational offering.

Great parking lot, very large with many free spaces, some of which are well shaded by trees 🌳🌲. I parked here 🚘 to visit the adjacent park. 🌞😃

As nice as it is to park in the front section of the Westbad parking lot, since the walk to the entrance is shorter, I would definitely recommend the back section in the summer, as there are many more shaded parking spaces there. However, and this isn't the fault of the parking lot itself, not all users are familiar with the traffic regulations. Many even drive the wrong way down the one-way street. Be careful! Perhaps new signage would be a good idea.
