Schloss Höfling | Concerts & Events
Schloss Höfling in Regensburg is not a place for a quick visit, but a historically grown, private estate with a special aura. The official website emphasizes that the castle is usually not open to the public and only opens its gates a few times a year for cultural, culinary, and culture-culinary events. This is exactly what makes the place appealing: Those who come here do not simply experience a venue, but an ensemble of history, park, castle courtyard, and musical atmosphere. The castle is located south of Regensburg near Burgweinting, secluded in greenery and surrounded by forest. This location shapes the experience as much as the architecture and the fact that it is a private house that is used thoughtfully and not in mass. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/))
Schloss Höfling is particularly exciting for people searching for the keywords concerts, events, program, photos, or directions. The castle is presented on the official website with areas such as castle, park faces, park, and concert hall, which already visually suggests that here not only a building is shown, but a whole cultural place. Visitors find insights into past and upcoming dates, information about admission, process, and contact, as well as details about the use for private celebrations. For content planning, it is important to note that the search interest at this location is not only focused on classic castle history, but especially on events, musical evenings, park atmosphere, private use, and the practical way there. These themes form the basis of the following sections. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/schloss/))
Events, Concerts, and Program
Those looking for concerts at Schloss Höfling or the program of Schloss Höfling usually want to know when the next date takes place, what the atmosphere is like, and what kind of music is offered. The official website shows that the program regularly consists of chamber music, opera nights, song evenings, jazz formats, special events, and charity evenings. Examples from the published pages range from chamber music afternoons to opera afternoons to open-air charity concerts in the castle courtyard. The event page consolidates current and past dates, so the place presents itself not as a static sight, but as a vibrant cultural address. For visitors, this is crucial: Schloss Höfling is particularly interesting when music, history, and an intimate environment come together. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen/))
The official concert pages also provide practical information about the process. Several events start at 3 PM, admission usually begins at 2:30 PM, and during the breaks, small snacks and drinks are served on the first floor. At some concerts, a small snack is also offered afterwards, which emphasizes the personal and salon-like atmosphere. Ticket sales are conducted online via OK TICKET and through advance sales points such as the Regensburg Tourist Information. At the same time, Schloss Höfling explicitly points out that no telephone reservations are accepted. For inquiries regarding tickets, box office, tickets, and program, this is important information because the purchasing process is clearly regulated. The mix of classical concert culture, family size, and organized advance sales makes the place very attractive for a culture-interested audience. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen/schlosskonzerte/2025-schlosskonzerte/25-10-26_gao.html?utm_source=openai))
Thematically, the program is also broad. The official pages feature arias and opera programs, historical instruments, piano evenings, duos, trios, and vocal evenings with international artists. The Höflinger castle concerts are thus more than just individual events: they form a recurring series with a recognizable signature. Those searching for opera gala Schloss Höfling or Schloss Höfling program will find a profile that is particularly strong in chamber music and classical repertoire, but also includes crossover formats and charity events. This combination fits the ambiance of a castle that focuses on intimacy rather than size. One does not sit in an anonymous hall, but in a private cultural space with a historical aura. This makes the term events at Schloss Höfling relevant for search engines and at the same time contextually appropriate. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen/schlosskonzerte/2025-schlosskonzerte/25-06-benefiz.html?utm_source=openai))
Directions and Parking at Schloss Höfling
The keyword Schloss Höfling directions is one of the most important search queries because the location is deliberately secluded. The official contact page clearly states that access by car is only possible from Burgweinting, opposite the HEM gas station. From there, a field and forest path leads through the Höflinger Forest to the castle. The website also points out that the path goes through a protected landscape area and that parking is limited. For this reason, visitors are asked to form carpooling groups. Those searching for the way for the first time should not rely on a spontaneous trip to the outskirts, but plan the route in advance. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/kontakt.html))
For practical orientation, it is also important that the route is described via the B15 and Edison Street. After crossing the railway tracks, turn right towards Burgweinting or Regensburg, shortly after the HEM gas station, a field or forest path leads left to Schloss Höfling. For cyclists and walkers, there is also an access route via the R19 towards Oberisling and Scharmassing, parking before the brook. However, Schloss Höfling explicitly points out that this path is a private road in very poor condition and is not suitable for motor vehicles. This information is crucial for all inquiries regarding parking, Burgweinting, and directions: The location is accessible, but not with the comfort of an urban event venue. It relies on a nature-close, quiet access that fits the overall facility. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/kontakt.html))
For guests, this also means that Schloss Höfling functions more as an excursion and cultural experience than as a classic event venue with a large forecourt. The path through the forest is part of the experience, and this connection of nature and culture is part of the charm. Those asking about the weather at Schloss Höfling often think about the outing behavior on the event evening: At open-air events or castle courtyard evenings, the weather naturally plays a role, while at concerts inside the house, the path through the forest is primarily a scenic prelude. Therefore, it is worthwhile to arrive early, especially for well-attended events. The official communication regarding the limited parking situation is clear enough to give seekers a clear expectation: better to travel together, pay attention to the route, and not confuse the special location with an urban venue. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/kontakt.html))
History of Schloss Höfling and the Walderdorff Family
The history of Schloss Höfling goes back much further than the current building. The official history page explains that the place has been connected to Regensburg since early centuries and that the current castle was built in the 18th century by Xaver Ignaz Freiherr von Reichlin-Meldegg. His coat of arms can still be seen today in the staircase or in the large salon on the first floor. This historical trace is interesting for all those searching for Schloss Höfling owner or Schloss Höfling Walderdorff, as it shows that the building is not just a residence, but a grown noble and family estate. The castle changed ownership several times over time before being embedded in modern family history. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/schloss/geschichte/))
The official chronicle also mentions important stages in the history of ownership. Thus, the castle was sold in 1775, later acquired by Count Wilhelm von Holnstein, and in 1892 bought by Prince Albert of Thurn and Taxis with the castle garden and outbuildings. The associated estate had already passed into the possession of Prince Maximilian Karl of Thurn and Taxis in 1860. In connection with the racing club Prüfening, the princely house maintained a stud farm in Höfling between 1892 and 1907. From 1922, the couple of Prince Karl August and Maria Anna, Duchess of Braganza, took up residence there. Prince Johannes of Thurn and Taxis was born in the castle in 1926. Since 1985, the family Count von Walderdorff has lived in Schloss Höfling. These dates are not only historical details but also explain why the place continues to exist in a private and at the same time culturally charged context. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/schloss/geschichte/))
The history also includes the castle chapel, which was consecrated in 1755 according to the inscription on the altar stone. In 1922, the Bishop's Ordinariate approved the preservation of the Most Holy in the chapel. Such information makes it clear that Schloss Höfling is more than just a decorative building: it was and is a place of religious, familial, and representative significance. When people today ask about the owner, it is usually because they want to understand why the castle is not permanently open to the public and how it can still be used for cultural events. The answer lies in the combination of private residence, historical continuity, and targeted public opening for special occasions. This is precisely where the independent character of this location lies. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/schloss/geschichte/))
Photos, Castle Park, and the Special Atmosphere
Those searching for Schloss Höfling photos usually want to see in advance how much castle feeling this place really conveys. The official photo page is therefore particularly revealing, as it not only shows the castle itself but also highlights the areas of park faces, park, and concert hall. This already suggests that Schloss Höfling is not merely a stone monument address, but an ensemble of architecture and landscape. The location on the southern outskirts of Regensburg, the proximity to the Aubach, and the secluded position in the forest near Burgweinting contribute to the atmosphere. The website also describes the castle as a private place with cultural uses, which supports the photographic impression of exclusivity and tranquility. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/schloss/))
The special strength of this location lies in the fact that it does not rely on spectacular size, but on harmonious proportions and a historical environment. The concert hall, the salons on the first floor, and the castle courtyard together create an environment that feels very immediate during events. Concert pages regularly mention that after the concert, a small snack and drinks are served in the salons on the first floor. This merges the image of the castle with a homely, almost salon-like cultural practice. For visitors looking at photos, this creates not only the impression of a beautiful building but of a lived atmosphere. This mixture of intimate interior world and open park space is a key reason why Schloss Höfling is so often associated with images, photos, and atmosphere in search queries. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen/schlosskonzerte/2025-schlosskonzerte/25-12-14_kellhuber.html?utm_source=openai))
The event formats in the open air also contribute to the image. The castle courtyard is used for charity evenings and other open-air events, and the event overview repeatedly features offerings that include the courtyard and park. This is important for keyword logic because many users are not just looking for a building but for a place where a complete experience can be expected. Photos of Schloss Höfling should therefore not be viewed in isolation: they show a location that moves between representation, nature, and culture. The result is a place that often appears quiet, romantic, and yet vibrant in pictures. This visual quality fits well with the frequent search queries for Schloss Höfling photos and Schloss Höfling Photos, as interested parties primarily want to feel whether the journey there is worth it for a concert, a celebration, or a special evening. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/schloss/))
Weddings, Private Celebrations, and Exclusive Use
For inquiries such as Schloss Höfling wedding or private celebrations, the official booking page is particularly relevant. It explains that rooms, castle park, and castle courtyard can be rented for private events such as birthdays, corporate parties, and Christmas celebrations. This makes Schloss Höfling interesting not only for concerts but also as an exclusive backdrop for occasions where a historical ambiance is desired. Pricing is available upon request, which fits the character of the house: no mass location, but individual coordination. Especially for weddings, this is a plus, as the place is more suitable for personal, carefully designed celebrations than for standardized packages. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen-buchen.html))
The information regarding capacity is particularly practical. The hall on the ground floor offers space for up to 45 people at tables, according to the official site. For events with more than 45 people, tents may need to be set up. This is very useful information for anyone planning a more intimate celebration and looking for a location with manageable size. Caterers mentioned include Rosenpalais Catering and the Schlosswirtschaft Heitzenhofen, allowing for culinary organization of the event as well. For search engine relevance, this means: Schloss Höfling is not only a cultural place but also a place for celebrations with an emphasis on atmosphere, individuality, and historical surroundings. The search for wedding, seating plan, or places is directly answered here with a concrete, real use. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen-buchen.html?utm_source=openai))
Even in a private context, the castle remains true to its basic idea: it should not be arbitrarily available but used consciously. This is precisely why private events work so well in the positioning of the location. Those planning a celebration at Schloss Höfling do not just rent a room but a place with park, courtyard, history, and quiet access. This combination is rare and explains why the castle stands out in Regensburg. For weddings, this is particularly appealing because the facility offers both elegant indoor spaces and green outdoor areas. This creates the possibility of combining reception, dinner, and photo moments in one place. Therefore, inquiries about weddings or private celebrations do not show coincidence but a genuine usage profile that is clearly described on the official page. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.schloss-hoefling.de/veranstaltungen-buchen.html))
Rilke in the Castle Park and Cultural Highlights
The search term Schloss Höfling Rilke leads to a particularly literarily charged aspect of the place. On the website of the city of Regensburg, an event titled Rilke in the Castle Park by Eva Sixt and Joseph Berlinger is documented. There, Rilke meets important companions of his life in the castle park of Schloss Höfling, including Marie von Thurn und Taxis, Lou Andreas-Salomé, and Baladine Klossowska. The description emphasizes that these women challenged and supported Rilke in different ways. This makes Schloss Höfling visible not only as a musical but also as a literary stage. Such formats expand the cultural profile far beyond classical concerts. ([regensburg.de](https://www.regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/detail/592774))
The reference to Marie von Thurn und Taxis is particularly fitting historically, as the Thurn und Taxis family is closely connected to the history of the castle. The official history page mentions the takeover of the castle by the family in the 19th century and the later use by Prince Karl August and Maria Anna. In this connection between family history, patronage, and literary memory lies a significant part of the cultural radiance of the place. Those searching for Rilke often seek not just an event but a place with spiritual and historical depth. Schloss Höfling fulfills this need precisely because it shows in events like Rilke in the Castle Park how literature, music, and castle landscape can interact. ([schloss-hoefling.de](https://www.regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/detail/592774))
This cultural context is valuable for the overall perception of the location. Schloss Höfling thus becomes visible not only as a concert address but as an inspiring memory space. The combination of park, historical architecture, and artistic program fits equally with search queries for program, events, photos, and special highlights. Therefore, those searching for the themes Rilke, Walderdorff, or Thurn und Taxis will find a place where history is not presented in a museum-like manner but is staged vividly. This is exactly the kind of quality that often makes the difference in SEO analysis for cultural venues: not just a venue, but a narratable place with identity, recurring formats, and concrete historical references. Schloss Höfling is a very good example of this. ([regensburg.de](https://www.regensburg.de/veranstaltungen/detail/592774))

Unfortunately, it's not exactly worth seeing. The hiking trails through the forest are lovely, though. The name "castle" suggests more. However, this is where our Prince of Regensburg was born.

You don't need to go there, as it's privately owned and the access road is private as well. We missed the sign, so we drove up. The owners are very friendly and also offer events there. 😊
